Equipping the MissingNo. sticker increases item drops, doubles one of your attacks (as in makes you have two of it, not doubling the attack power), dramatically lowers your defense, and turns your character into a glitchy, pixellated mess in healing rooms tongue

They could start the Mario fixing process by either making his FLUDD actually a viable move or get rid of it again for something less one-off and gimmicky

The thing showed up in one game (Smash brothers aside) that was released years ago, and nobody seems to like it as far as I can tell. I can't fathom why they decided it would be a good idea to keep it around.

What's worse is, not only was it a crap move, but it was clone of Squirtle's equally useless Water Gun. Sakurai was giving a non-clone character a clone move!

Bring back Mario Tornado.

Well, I guess Mario Tornado technically isn't a clone move, since Mario started it.

Well, to be fair, Squirtle's Water Gun could be used to deal damage if you double-tap the attack button. And, to be even more fair, both attacks can probably be used to prevent a recovery if someone is trying to get to the ledge from the edge.

Either way, I never really play as Mario anyway. LUIGI NUMBER ONE.

Mario Tornado never left. It was moved to Air Down A.

I'd rather they just fix FLUDD by making it do damage, but keep the knockback, but don't let it reset their Jump or Up B. They could buff some of his attacks too, he feels a bit weaker beyond the basic moveset changes.

[up][up][up]Heck yeah. Luigi keeping it in Brawl doesn't mean his makes Mario's a clone if Mario gets it back. Mario had it first.

[up]It's not the same. :/

And the knockback was piddly at best.

I didn't really see it as knockback—I call it knockback if it actually stuns the person. What those attacks did was more like just gently (but forcibly) pushing to the side, which could work wonders if done right. Like, like I said, preventing someone from getting back to the ledge from the edge.

I was using knockback to show how far they flew/are moved. But there's probably a better term for it. And yeah, increase it quite a bit. It makes the move worth it.

Meh. Tornado was better.

@Dark Pit: Yeah he wouldn't be a clone, but the issue of coloration (so no one confuses him with Pit) far too big.

See this is one of the problems I have with his inclusion. They look the same except for different colours. Not only is that gonna be a bit confusing, keep in mind that each character has to have Red, Green and Blue costumes. So then they're gonna have to make his team palettes look different enough from Pit's. It's just not worth it.

The other problem I have is that there are far more unique choices for Kid Icarus' second rep. Dark Pit should be an Assist Trophy.

Dark Pit being included would just be a big "why." Unless he's just there in the form of a cameo, palette swap, or Assist Trophy, it doesn't make much sense to include him.

[up]To be honest, I'd just rather the palette swap and a trophy (and a sticker) and nothing else.

Pic of the Day. The breed of the Nintendogs Assist Trophy has changed to a French Bulldog.

Ice Climbers should have their chain-grabbing nerfed but everything else buffed.

They were.

I know, but they could stand to be buffed again. They actually weren't that great before infinite chaingrabs were discovered.

In the first few years of Brawl's metagame, the Ice Climbers were only ranked in mid-high tier, given their poor fighting abilities and vulnerability when the partner Climber dies, and their powerful grab tactics were unrecognized at the time. However, Ice Climber players soon began to utilize their infinite chaingrabs, giving them an extremely powerful zero-to-death option against any other character.

Does Mario have a ground pound in Smash? Because he should have one, being an universal move in 3D games.

That was actually something Bowser and Yoshi did first, and have for a long time. Which is why they have that move instead, since it's more associated with them. Although Bowser doesn't use it nearly as much as Yoshi.

And that aside, the drill-kick is useful as is Mario Cyclone (should either return to their rightful place).

Bowser's is a reference to Super Mario Bros 3, so I understand it wasn't simply a matter of copying Yoshi Bomb.

Although they could differentiate Yoshi Bomb on the ground, considering it never worked like that in the games. Maybe make it so he pounds in the same spot he's standing instead of in front of him.

Actually forget it. It's fine. The more pressing Bowser similarity is Charizard's Flamethrower. Now that needs modifying. They weren't even trying with that one.

Okay, possible new Final Smashes for Bowser:

  • Bowser summons his army and they attack everyone

  • Bowser attacks from his Koopa Clown Car

  • Bowser summons his castle, which lifts the whole stage into the sky

  • Kamek sprinkles his spell dust on Bowser, turning him into a version of Giga Bowser that's not completely hideous

  • Anything else

[up]Koopa Clown Car and Giant Bowser sound good.

So anyway, to declone Charizard's Flamethower, it should look more like it is in the games; a horizontal pillar of flame. It should have some different mechanics from Bowser's Flame Breath too.

Also, either buff Rock Smash or ditch it. It was crap.

Then it should be buffed.

Given the limited character space that already exists, having two versions of Ganondorf that would likely be nearly the exact same character - on top of the two versions of link that are already present - would be a waste of space better used for a different character who would be far more likely to have a different moveset and bring their own style to the game.

Funny thing you say that considering that Toon Zelda was actually planned for Brawl, meaning it's more likely that we could have two Zeldas in the roster than two Ganondorfs anyways.

[up]Neither is a favourable outcome.

As for Rock Smash, I dunno, it seems kinda boring. Clearly they just made him Pokemon Trainer's HM Slave. tongue

One more thing about Charizard. Fly could use a buff as well. And ditch the fire element. That is not what Fly is about. Instead, make the move look sharper, as if the quick boost in the air is razor sharp.

[up]x3 On Flame Breath. Uh what? I can only remember Bowser eiter shooting fireballs of flame streams.

Also, I suggested ground pound for Kario as a third option as he has more times than FLUDD or spin attack.

[up]Bowser can't shoot fireballs. Only flame streams. And Charizard's Flamethower is just clone of it.

We've already got two characters with a ground pound special. It'd just be a clone move. It's not really needed. Mario feels complete without it.

I mean in Mario games. You said he should shoot flame pillars which I can't remember ever doing. He either shoots fireballs or fire streams. Also, should Charizard's Flamethrower be decloned?

And should that be three? Dedede also has one

I think Dedede uses his feet instead. Compared to his hip/butt. So it's a bit different.
