I personally hope he gets cut for a cuter Pokemon.

That was a joke, right?

Dr. Wily too. His Final Smash involves the UFO sound.
Hah, a Super Smash Bros where Megaman can send Dr. Wily falling to his death or ram him into a wall of spikes, only for the doctor to revive ten seconds later.

Instead people dogpile on one person all the time and any justified criticism is shot down by the majority.
And he was still important anyway for being the mascot of a generation anyway.
Importance/Legacy > Newest

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI vaguely follow pokemon. I have my entire life, even if circumstances have always conspired against me actually playing the games.
I'd never heard of Lucario until smash. Really, he wasn't even promoted that much. Plus, he's a fairly boring looking pokemon, he's had his minute of fame. And dude, it's not so much that we're all jumping on you as you interpret someone trying to disprove one of your points as a personal attack on you. Not to mention that you're pretty much the only one holding your opinion. An important part of being a mascot is being heavily promoted, being the face of the promotion. Lucario really wasn't on much of the promotional material, if I remember right. He's not Pikachu, he's not any of the legendaries... I think you're really overselling this. Just because we think your opinions are wrong doesn't mean we think you're a jerk, we're not attacking you.
I ship it.![]()
Excuse me? Wrong about what? I never specificied a specific instance. Link me to what I said that goes against what Sakurai said.
I just said in general this is what tends to happen to people. Not just me, but other people too. By "one person" I didn't mean me; I meant just any instance where one person says something and everybody else just teams up on them.
Other sites have said this has happened to other people too as well.
And that means we should judge his relevance on that?
Yeah, they didn't make a movie about him or anything.
How can you say that? We never interact. You haven't been around all the times it's happened.
That's your opinion.
One of the first Gen IV pokemon revealed. Got it's own movie. Had references to him before his gen came out like in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.
I think you're really underselling his significance.
I wasn't even referring to Lucario when I was saying that.

Wow. Insults that aren't even subtle. Nice.
It's okay.
I'd rather that Link, Zelda and Ganondorf all have the same style. Feels a bit weird if one of the main trio doesn't match stylistically with the other two.
Why can't we have all three?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThat does depend on the series in question as well.
Like, if the IP itself is new, like Xenoblade, or if it's a series where it's known that new characters stick around, like Pokemon, it's easier to us new guys without worrying about future relevance.
I'll definitely give that one-shot characters, like Ghirahim, Yuga, and Skull Kid, haveore barriers than recurring characters, or characters of a shorter series.
I have a message from another time...I think it also depends on how consistent the cast is. A very new Zelda character is a less good idea than a newer FE character, for example. Zelda has a fair few recurring characters- And yeah, I know reincarnation and such- Whereas Fire Emblem has a new cast every three games, at least.
I sure said that!
