Which is why it should be coming out earlier in the year, not competing with everything else during the Christmas rush. The Wii U is struggling, and launching in June or July will mean there are relatively few other games around that could draw away sales. As opposed to the abundance of games that traditionally comes in October and November.
I still can't believe that Project M and I had the same (obscure) idea for a Pikachu alt.
Anyways, if those rumors are true then I am super-hype! :D I really can't wait to get the game.

It helps that Pichu is amazing against Giga Bowser and requires a lot more work to win with than Pikachu. Plus, it does have some more powerful attacks. I might just go for Project M if they give him the right buffs. Pikachu was very boring for me to play as in Melee.
As for Super Smash Flash. I have played it(and the demo of the 2). The mechanics need serious fixing, but I find the gameplay interesting. I'm not entirely bothered by the character list, being blatantly a fangame, but I don't like having too many Sonic characters while lacking in other series.(same with any others) My biggest complaint about the first one is really more of a nitpick, but calling X Mega Man was kind of annoying. Other than that, I had some fun with it.
Shadow?Brawl took quite a long time to develop, so I'm worried if this game takes less time since it might mean fewer features.
Honestly, the sheer quantity of features the games tend to have is part of why Smash Bros. is fun to me, not just the battling or crossover aspect. I'm sorta worried that with two versions they'll split the total amount of non-vs.-mode content between the two versions, resulting in neither one feeling complete. Of course, if both versions had more content than Brawl (Or at least if the Wii U version does, 3DS version can't hold as much content as Brawl I'd suspect), that'd be awesome.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! They have a whole extra team helping them work on the game in the form of Namco-Bandai, though, so it only makes sense that it might not take as long.
Anyway, in terms of fan works, Super Smash Land is pretty awesome. I mean, I've personally never been able to get it to work for me, since I've never been able to configure Joy2Key in a way that works correctly, but its soundtrack
kicks ass.
Also, a side note, we do have a Project M thread here
Man, I love Brawl In The Family. One time I went over to a good friend's place and he told me about it and I read the first 100 or so pages in one day. It's very clever and witty.
Plus some of
the strips
are hilarious
in a WTH way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMAs a note, it seems like Namco Bandai is the entirety of the team working on the game, other than Sakurai. At least, as far as I can tell. But anyway, while this is true, they're also working on two separate versions, so the team would need to be significantly larger than Brawl's (which had about 100 people working on it fulltime according to Sakurai). Hopefully it is.
Welcome to th:|I too wish we played as the real characters and not trophies of them.
The game's non-canon anyway, so it's not like it'd screw up continuity or anything.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMDoes it really make a difference if you're playing as the real characters or trophies (outside of Subspace Emissary, anyway)...? It doesn't seem like it would really make a difference in regular battles.
Plus, in the more recent games, there's about as much evidence for them being the real characters (namely Snake and Villager's reveal videos, Snake's codec calls, and Ness and Lucas's PK Starstorm trophies) for them being the real characters as there is for them being trophies (again, outside of Subspace Emissary).

Welcome to th:|I really hope that's fake. If Smash 4 comes out anytime before Q4 it seems like it's being rushed.
And the fact that they added it in the first place.
No, they should take their time with Smash. They don't need to rush it, especially considering they ditched the story mode cutscenes and limited the roster to what the 3DS can handle.
And do you really think Smash is gonna struggle to sell around the Christmas Rush? Smash 4 will sell like hotcakes if it's released at any time of year.
That's not ideal at all. That sounds really rushed.

Earlier than you thought, maybe. I've been fairly sure they were going to release it next summer, personally.
