You know, I was thinking just now how Paper Mario could be a new character. Any thoughts?
I know, he might end up more or less a clone of the original Mario, but maybe his A moves and Smash attacks could be different from the original Mario, like using his hammer as his Side Smash attack or something.
You know, I wonder if they don't care about the spin-off games when it comes to Smash? I mean, I am trying to think characters from spin-offs and only character from spin-offs who are in Smash (outside of Trophies) is Waluigi. And I guess how people view that is bit moxed (I mean, I sort of hope for a Pokémon Ranger to get in, but that is rather loose dream).
Only sometimes postsMega Man actually looks EXACTLY like his official art.
◊
How he moves and his expressions look the exact same too.
◊
All his moves are also almost exactly the same as in-game. Even the sound effects are the same.
His death animation is also the same as in his games.
He looks close to how he did in-game (his feet and hands have moveable ankles and wrists), but the liberties were taken so he could indeed imitate his NES movements.
And I love every bit of it.
Regarding spinoffs, as far as I can tell they generally don't include characters who originate from spinoff games and movesets tend to stick solely to main-series games. As far as stages go we got a Mario Kart stage in Brawl, but that seems to be it.
Trophies and Stickers seem to be fair game, though with a bias towards main-series games. Songs are generally not from spinoffs save for a few select ones like Gritzy Desert and Mario Kart's themes (of course).
I should note that Pokemon has absolutely no reference to spinoff games. No stages, no trophies, no stickers (Though there's no actual stickers from the series anyway, just Brawl's own concept art. Licensing issues, or laziness?), no music, nothing beyond a title in the Chronicle.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Except Sonic(Air Down A is blatantly Shadow Rocket in Sonic Battle, with the only differences is that he doesn't always go down to the ground like the original, and probably damage. It knocks them into the air in a similar way as the original), Mario(this one is partially arguable, although his Final Smash's only similar variant is in Super Mario RPG), and Peach(her Forward Smash references 3 Spin-offs. Her Final Smash is based somewhat upon Super Princess Peach to my knowledge. I might be wrong on this bit. Her slaps are arguably straight from Super Mario RPG).
Movesets are whatever works, honestly. There isn't some rule about leaving spin-offs out and never was one(plus, multiples are blatantly referenced). So I really don't see that at all. Also, is Luigi's Mansion a spin-off now? Because that was a full stage for cripes' sake. Some spin-offs have not been referenced, true. But that doesn't make it a rule.
Shadow?Honestly, I doubt the people working on Smash pay attention to games as low-key as Sonic Battle. Yeah, it's a spinoff with story importance to the franchise, but it's also relatively unknown compared to the major titles. The entire Advance line is, honestly. Known to the fans, probably not to the public.
And I still say Peach's slaps are really stretching it.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Not paying attention to Sonic Battle? So they totally didn't put in a Sticker straight from it? Sorry, not buying it. And note how I said Peach's slaps were arguable. Of course they might not be straight from it. Doesn't change that there's nowhere else Sonic's Down Air can come from. It has similar properties to both Sonic and Shadow's Air Attack.
Also, Cream the Rabbit's specific games she's from according to her Trophy is Sonic Advance 2 and Sonic Heroes. Really don't know what you're talking about, because those games definitely were paid attention to in some degree.

Shadow?........That's a very good point. Why DID Mario get another clone? And why did Ganondorf never get changed?
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"Ganondorf didn't get changed because he didn't want to alienate Melee fans. However, he played so terribly in Brawl(despite actually being more unique, and I do like his new moveset heavily, but it just doesn't work) that some people may have wanted an entirely unique moveset. I can't say all, cause hey, who knows?
Dr. Mario was considered different enough from Mario to get his own slot. That's literally it. This is proven in gameplay since they play differently. While the animations are mostly the same, the actual gameplay isn't. Most moves(if not all) have different properties, including the Megavitamins. Also, being that Mario and Dr. Mario were two of the first ever games in the Mario series that were not the same genre, them playing differently from each other isn't entirely surprising. I would love if Dr. Mario played much more differently, though, like being very hard to read move-wise, in other words, a "puzzling" character. Pun aside, puzzle bosses are generally ones you have to really practice and figure out. I don't think any of the characters in Smash had some similarities to that idea. Mr. Game & Watch isn't horribly hard to read, imo. Maybe give him some of the same animations for different moves?
Shadow?Shitshitshit, gotta redirect........
......Do you think Link might get his normal boomerang back?
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"Nah, I think if we're getting a new DK character, it'd be Dixie (as she was one of the Forbidden Ones for Brawl)
Vote. .#Bayonetta 4 Smash

It does not use a random amount of energy. It's just that it's a bit buggy, and drains a ton of energy if you're holding down thr button when you hit an enemy with it.
I have a message from another time...
