I was thinking about it the other day, and now I'd really like to see a stage based off Mario And Luigi Superstar Saga.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMLike what? Bowser's Insides? Because any other game in the series is forgotten about and not liked for some reason.

Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"
Superstar Saga was da bomb. Don't make me smack some sense into you.
As far as I know, it's only Partners In Time that people didn't like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMYou know, I did specify Superstar Saga and not the Mario & Luigi series in general...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMWhy didn't they like Partners in Time, anyways? I know they hated Super Paper Mario for being a platforming-adventure game, but I actually liked that change.

Something to do with how the US version bumped up the HP of everything which made Boss Battles take forever or something.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI recall people also getting put off by its generally Darker and Edgier tone.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guySo anyway, Superstar Saga stage. I imagine it would either be the Beanbean Outskirts, Stardust Fields, or Chucklehuck Woods.
I'd like the level to have all square/rectangular edges, so it looks like it's aping the isometric style of the original game.

What kind of gimmicks would the stages have, though?

Actually, so far I think it'd be gimmick-less, and woul djust have an interesting layout to make up for it.
If I think of a good gimmick I will add it.

We already have stages like that through Final Destination and Battlefield, as well as Yoshi's Island and both DK levels in Melee minus the barrels.
And there'd be randomly spawned switches that cause events on the map.

If we get Bowser's Insides, it should defintely be from Inside Story. The one from SS doesn't really strike me as stage material.
Okay, maybe the gimmick would be like the Castle Siege stage where it changes layout and location. So you'd get to go to many different parts of the Beanbean Kingdom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMPeople didn't like Mario And Luigi Partners In Time? I loved that game :< It's the first non-Pokemon RPG I've played to completion and one of my favorite Mario games. I just love the humor in everything, even in its darker moments.
My only experience with the Paper Mario series is watching a Let's Play of Super Paper Mario, which is different from the rest of the series anyway, so I guess I can't judge.
Personally, I liked Partners in Time better than Superstar Saga. Granted, I played the former before the latter, but as much as I enjoyed SS, I found it a tad underwhelming in comparison to its sequel. Both are great, but I like PiT better. (I also never ended up finishing SS because I got stuck at one point, didn't play it for a while, and then when I later came back to it, I forgot where I was in the game completely. I played through almost the entire game, though.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. They're quite different. M&L are more action-based, battle being based more on how well you execute Action Commands and dodge attacks than any sort of strategy (And the overworld is more action-y too, often having platforming puzzles). The humor is sorta similar, yet at the same time different, with more cutscenes rather than just NPC dialogue.
I like both, of course. Regarding Partners in Time, the complaint is that it's incredibly linear for an RPG, having no sidequests and no real deviation from the plot's path. I liked it in spite of that, though. Some people also say the bosses had too much HP, but I felt it was just right. Long enough to be a challenge and feel like a boss. Certainly an improvement over Superstar Saga, where even a normal amount of leveling up often makes you strong enough to KO a boss in one turn.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'll give you that about its linearity, but I suppose I personally need linearity to some extend in order to guide me where I'm supposed to go to finish the game. I'm not much of an RPG player, so I don't see it as as much of an issue as RPG aficionados might. Honestly, I just saw it as a platformer with turn-based battles, really.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Ah, Superstar Saga. The one Mario & Luigi game I haven't played.
Speaking of Mario RPGs, would the stage from Thousand-Year Door work? No, not a stage. The stage. Maybe with a Hooktail Castle backdrop?
Obviously, lots of things would be going on so that it isn't a purely flat stage (like spiking or Meteor Smashing someone into the floor knocks a background prop down. Yes, they can hurt you.)

Indeed, we know his Side-tilt is also the Mega Buster, and to my knowledge the only tilt you can use while moving (without stopping).
