I know, I just thought how he specified it unlike with Male WFT was a Fandom Nod to him being on people's wishlists and stuff.
The sad thing is I've seen some people (commentors, not staff) on sites like Siliconera who thought Male Wii Fit Trainer was a separate character and complaining about him being a waste of a roster spot.

"We're home, Chewie."I wonder if they'll keep the Tingle Assist Trophy. In Brawl, the Mario series was the only series to get more than one Assist Trophy.

I don't really think he should, for the same reasons I don't want Toad. He's not really built to be combat-capable. He's stubby and has awfully short limbs. Plus his Assist Trophy was cool (Hammers for everyone!).
Well actually I think Tingle would be more interesting than Toad. But I'm fine with the Brawl Zelda roster if that's what happens.
Also, he's probably one of the very recurring Zelda characters who isn't playable in Smash, so he wouldn't be added for shallow advertising which is a plus, unlike all those Ghirahim requests...

I was saying the way of thinking where some people think the character has to be recent regardless of how important said character is to the franchise to appear in Smash is what makes me sad.
K Rool doesn't to be recent, he's the Big Bad of most of the DK series. He's earnt his place.
EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it I wouldn't mind Tingle's inclusion, as long as a new Assist Trophy fills the void he left, and that Sheik and Ganondorf make it in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThe Skull Kid from Twilight Princess is the one from Majora's Mask, or at least is heavily implied to be so. Just as much, if not more than the Hero's Shade being the Hero of Time.
But you're right, the design is from Majora's Mask, so it probably has something to do with that game. Maybe it's similar to DK's Final Smash, and it does the scream.
EDIT: Oh, and what do you know:

Ironically, dropping the moon would ALSO be similar to DK.
Anyway, regarding today's pic and the associated Miiverse comment, Sakurai Trolling Level: 9002.
Nice to see Assist Trophies are back, though. First confirmation of that.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I was saying the way of thinking where some people think the character has to be recent regardless of how important said character is to the franchise to appear in Smash is what makes me sad.
I know what you mean. honestly speaking, recent prominent activities (or lack of them) is the last reason why Sakurai would leave off K. Rool, especially as he's not a Pokemon character or something like that.

Did he actually say that in an interview?

Can't find a citing on it whatsoever. An interview should be linked since that's a pretty notable thing for him to say after all.
Notably, the UK Developers of the Tingle games did not talk to Sakurai about Tingle at all...
, so I'm not so sure this was ever real.
Because they had a concept for a shuriken-throwing minigame and they didn't have any other franchises that fit it?
Based on Sakurai's comment about the tree move needing "tactics like never before", I'm assuming it's not just a single action with a long animation. The axe swing is the only one of Villager's moves we've seen that seems like a logical forward smash, and it seems unlikely that they'd make you use press the button for the forward smash three times in order to use it once, so I'm thinking they're separate moves. I could be wrong, of course, but this is how it seems to me.
I wasn't saying anything about whether I think he "deserves" to get in - in fact, just two posts earlier, I had put him in a list of characters I was hoping for. I was just considering the likelihood of him getting in this time around, which I think is rather low since it sounds like we won't be getting a ton of new characters this time around. He's definitely the sort of character I'd expect to see in Smash Bros eventually, but I don't expect him in this one.

Welcome to th:|Actually, the Axe seems like his F-tilt.
The seed planting and watering are maybe the same move? Hmm...

Maybe he only said it that way because of Miiverse...
