Except the Ice Climbers are one-shot characters from a game with no other characters. Adeline is a one-shot character from a series with some not-one-shot characters that could appear instead. Not that I'm saying there needs to be a fourth Kirby rep, but still...
And agreed. There's no need for Shadow Mario. It's just a tacked-on thing people think should happen like all those ideas for a second Pokemon Trainer.

Except Shiek ties into Zelda's character. And Ocarina of Time is widely regarded as the Zelda series' Magnum Opus.
And Ness and Lucas fall under the same band as the Ice Climbers. They're the main characters in a small series where there aren't more important characters then them.

Well, I wouldn't know; I still haven't touched Uprising again.
Speaking of Bowser Jr, I'm gonna bring up that old moveset I made up for him that I put my Smash Bros ideas page:
Special Moves:
- B Special: Fireball - Not like Mario's fireball, but one that soars slowly across the screen, never touching the ground (like ones that Bowser uses in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D Land). Holding B will charge it up, making it bigger.
- Side-B Special: Paintbrush - Bowser Jr creates a small pile of goop using the paintbrush (he shoots it out of the brush) in front of him. Walking in the goop can cause you to slip or trip, but the main idea is the goop's effects, which can be changed by his down special. The goop lasts for about 8-10 seconds, and only one can be on the battlefield at a time.
- Up-B Special: ??? (I don't know. Maybe he might use his mini koopa clown car from New Super Mario Bros. Wii?)
- Down-B Special: Paint Change - Changes what paint the paintbrush has. It has four variants: Brown, Black, Red & Orange, and Green & Yellow. Brown can spawn a Swoopin' Stu
, Black can be on water without dissolving, Red & Orange does fire damage, and Green & Yellow does electrical damage. These changes also affect regular/smash attacks that use the paintbrush as well, which sort of adds an element of strategy.
- Final Smash: Polluted Piranha Plant
- Bowser Jr creates a Polluted Piranha Plant, which can attack foes and has different effects depending on which paint it was made from. It should be noted that ones made from brown goop would spawn more Swoopin' Stus. It wears off after a while (like all time-based Final Smashes).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThere are a couple of recovery move options. Riding on a Bullet Bill, spinning the brush like he's Waddle Dee with a spear, aping the Bowser Bomb, but with a verical hop to start, and etc.
I mentioned ideas for Ravio before, but I dunno what his Final Smash could be. Perhaps wrapping them in his Big Bag O' Rupees and beating them up? Or maybe throwing a whole bunch of his shop items at them in sequence?
Do you think there's a chance some characters could get new Final Smashes? I mentioned what I'd want for Bowser, but other characters could maybe use updates. Like King Dedede. He could pull out the mask from Super Star Ultra and do a massive jet-powered hammer spin.

I have a message from another time...
I'm hoping we get new Final Smashes for Peach and Pit, personally. A new Bowser FS would be cool though.
I kinda have a thing about multiple characters having Super Mode Final Smashes though. As long as it's not just a Pit version of Wario Man, I'm okay with it.

Yeah that's fine.
The thing I liked about the Super Mode Final Smashes in Brawl is that they were all different from each other. Wario's made his moves stronger, R.O.B.'s added an extra attack that he could use in conjunction with regular moves, Bowser's made him giant, etc.
Also, I'm really hoping that the Smash logos on the arena stage are a Red Herring and that it's actually a Punch Out stage.

It'd be cooler if he used the Great Sacred Treasure

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I suppose thinking about it, it'd be a major, major spoiler if they did that anyway. (Not that that's stopped them in the past, ahem, but still.) In fact, lemme just go back and spoiler-tag that real quick...

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.At first I predicted there would be two more character reveals this year; Zelda and another character. But now that I found out in Japan A Link Between Worlds will be released a whole month later than it was over here, I doubt we'll get two more reveals this year.
Unless Sakurai plans on revealing two characters within this month, but I doubt it. Hopefully they'll just get Zelda's reveal out of the way. She's a shoe-in.
I wonder if they'll reveal Sheik at the same time, or reveal her later like Brawl did.

That's what they did on the Smash Bros Dojo. I remember Sheik being revealed way after Zelda. But yeah, it is a bit weird to hold her off.
Revealing the Ice Climbers would be a relieving sight and would give me one less reason to hate the existence of the 3DS version.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMLong story short, the roster is being built to the specs of the 3DS version. So, for instance, if Ice Climbers can't work with the 3DS, the Ice Climbers will not be in either game. Or if the Wii U version could hold X characters and the 3DS could hold Y characters (where X > Y), Y will be the maximum roster size in both games.
Not sure why certain characters wouldn't be able to work in the 3DS version if they could work in the Wii U version, sans any Wii U-specific controls. And either way, I doubt that means there's going to be a small roster anyway.
Man, don't doubt Sakurai. Dude literally works himself sick to make these games—I'm sure he's trying to make it as satisfactory for as many people as possible.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.*shrug* They'll probably find a way. Besides, the 3DS is essentially a portable Game Cube, is it not? And Melee seemed to have handled the Ice Climbers fine.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Why wouldn't I?:
1. Exclusive stages.
2. The fact that the roster of the Wii U version is limited by what the 3DS can handle.
3. That the Wii U version's potential is pretty much gimped by the 3DS versions' existance.
What this guy said, basically.
Holy Crap, is that a Streetpass Quest stage!?

But one-shot characters can be so much fun! Just look at-
Err... the Ice Climbers! Yeah! That's what I was getting at!
But seriously, yeah, Bowser Jr. is the more likely one to have a paintbrush weapon. Perhaps they could have him not have to have a Mario transformation, and just use the brush in his usual form. Drop puddles of burning goop and such.
