Assuming you were talking to me ... I got curious since somebody referenced it here. I was kind of annoyed to see that the thread was gone, probably due to some hostility. But then I've never heard Game FA Qs described as a very magical place of discussion.
I'm sure there's another Project M thread somewhere. It's just not that one.

Summit made up for Icicle Mountain in Brawl though. Awesome stage, that.
Brinstar Depths should have returned in Brawl instead of Brinstar, considering how Norfair practically does the same thing as Brinstar with the rising hazard.

That's from Xenoblade, isn't it?
I'd really like an Endless Ocean stage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI feel like Icicle Mountain had a fine balance with regards to that stuff. As much as I like stage hazards, it can get to a point where it is annoyingly too much, like the Rumble Falls stage. That stage can be just sensory overload, and that one spike near the edge of the screen next to the ladder is just plain dickish.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. For the record, I did take a look in that Gamefaqs thread before it was removed last night, and there was plenty of smugness, lack of understanding of how somebody could NOT want to play Project M, and condescension within the first 8 pages. No idea what happened in the last 17 to cause it to be removed, but I suspect more hostility.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Personally, I have a total lack of understanding why anyone would ever want to argue about either position.
THAT BEING SAID, let's move on. I just saw this quote on Sakurai's Miiverse (from an older post, since one from August is at the top for some reason) about the 3DS version that intrigued me, and which I like a lot, since the outlines around the characters bugged me from day 1 and made the models look uglier to me:
So, the pic of the day: The giant wind mill in the right-hand side of Windy Hill. It keeps on turning even though it can't fit in the screen, so you'll find yourself in trouble if you're on it for too long.
So in addition to this possibly confirming it not being a scrolling stage (
), it also seems like the windmills work nothing like they do in the actual game
Ninja'd Sheik'd Espio'd.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Now, see, I'm thinking Windy Hill is a large stage with the bottom half of the windmill visible on a far side. Since only the bottom half is part of the active field, if you stand on it and let it take you off-screen, the thing that usually happens in Smash when you're taken off-screen happens.
I sure said that!

Quite the gamut you've all completed here.
So the majority vote is that Project M's development team and fanbase shows a bit of condescension, but has interesting ideas, and that not everyone who likes it subscribes to "Stop Having Fun" Guys Monthly.
That said, competitive players are still in a constant battle to distinguish themselves from the more... dogmatic
and stereotypically fun-retardant players that only appear after dark.
You know, with all the times I've heard wavedashing, L-canceling, stage balancing, and Project M/balancing mods referenced here, I was getting the impression that a lot of you guys were highly competitive players who really hated most of the series's regular elements, so I sort of kept my nose out. Heh,
what a poor amount of information to go onstereotypes.edited 20th Nov '13 7:30:57 AM by FOFD
