I think the reason we've gotten a lot of no-brainer reveals is that the game is still in development, and it'll be a while before they finish everything.

Huh, this is almost exactly how I was hoping a Super Mario Galaxy stage to go, with the whole "curving gravity" thing. I just didn't think they could actually do it. Awesome.

Oh goodie, Sonic's back. I suppose that is good news for fans though. He is not a late development addition this times so he might not have quite so many moves that look the same or be so lopsidedly balanced.

We've seen footage of his four specials, though.

We saw one of Kirby's specials in the lead up to Brawl and it was changed in the final game.

I would at least change Sonic's side special...

What? Why not his down special, you ask? Well, how do you charge a spin dash in classic Sonic games? Exactly.

Side Special... no idea. A Boost Dash? I don't know much about Sonic beyond Colors, hehe.

[up]Hammer (Side B). It originally still did the vertical flip like in Melee, but in the final version it was two powerful, horizontal strikes.

[up][up]In the picture, Kirby's air hammer was the vertical spin motion it had in Melee. In the final game, it was changed to two quick horizontal spins.

A boost/air dash would be a perfect side-B for Sonic, it gives great horizontal distance and is strong enough to make spinies do sad face.

Or that Light Speed Dash thing from Sonic Battle- Throw a ring, then dash after it.

The Boost from the modern games would be good, too.

And I hope the Homing Attack doesn't have as long a charge time as it did in Brawl.

Clearly the only special move Sonic needs is the real superpower of teamwork.

No, we just don't like when people say "CHARACTER X CONFIRMED" because of a stage that may or may not have a relation to either a) the Character X, b) the franchise Character X is from, or c) a franchise in which Character X has spotlighted in.

No, not even if you are joking. We at the Super Smash Bros. thread don't believe in saying "CHARACTER X CONFIRMED" until Character X is actually officially confirmed by Sakurai. Even then, we frown upon excited declarations until at least a period of 24 hours has past, in case Sakurai withdraws his official confirmation of Character X.

This is serious business here. I hear that's what the government shutdown was actually about.

Wait, "character X"?... Aerosmith confirmed!!

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

I miss Hammer Cartwheel...

Well, that was underwhelming.

Wait, are you agreeing with me?

And these would be pretty cool.

I'm glad Hammer Cartwheel was removed. It felt, at least, extremely weak. Horizontal Hammer has a definite feeling of force behind it.

When I played Melee, I liked using Hamner on the ground, for its launching power, but using it in the air just felt like another move entirely, one for building damage. Which was a shame, as Kirby has plenty of options for that in melee range.

In Brawl, air hammer acts more like the grounded version, and launches real good. I like it more, as a result.

The Cartwheel was like the Fire Dash. It felt really weak, even though it had the potential to be a bit cooler. I'm not entirely sure why I felt that, but I just did. Kirby's Headstand Kick dash attack felt more powerful, or maybe more useful.

If Hammer Cartwheel were to come back...

  • Two quick spins
  • If the first spin connects with someone; the second one is a guaranteed hit. The direction the foe is flung in depends on the angle at which they're hit and (of course) their damage %. Kirby will fling himself a short ways in the opposite direction, so if you and someone else are hit off the stage this is a good way to doom them while gaining a bit of height yourself.

How's this?

I love the headstand kick because it comes from Yo Yo power, which is probably my favorite non-standard Kirby power.

I'd like Kirby's Hammer cartwheel to return- That's how it works in the main games, after all- But for it to function mire like the Brawl Air Hammer, just aligned downward instead of horizontally.

And yeah, Break Spin is cool.

[up][up][up][up]I refer you to my previous post.

So anyway, about Rosalina. Although I like her and she's popular and stuff, I didn't feel like she should be playable when there's more deserving Mario characters. However, her being playable in Super Mario 3D World does at least give her more of a reason to be playable, because she's starting to become more mainstream. But I'd still rather Bowser Jr and Waluigi before her.

What was so popular about Princess Rosalina?
It's pretty much just the porn.

Wrong! Wrong, Wrong, WRONG!

Anom, you've got to stop this bias. You keep mixing cause and effect and assume that "Rosalia has more porn of her than other Mario characters, therefore clearly that's the reason why people like her".

You couldn't be anymore wrong. That is such a grossly wrong statement. You say it as if there's no genuine reason as to like Rosalina. People like Rosalina because she's cool. There are many reasons to like her, such as that fact that she was the first major female character in Mario that doesn't get kidnapped (which also makes her a better female lead instead of relying on the sorta-sexist old time Damsel in Distress trope), is not a princess (I think), has a unique design, an interesting and sympathetic backstory, has cool powers, and unlike Peach and Daisy, her voice isn't annoying. She's also implied to be a goddess, what with being able to restore the universe after it was destroyed and all that.

You seem to think that if some character becomes the target of a fandom's obsession (in this case, appearance), you mix cause and effect, and then say that Rosalina is only existing for that kind of appeal. And that's wrong.
