He did say characters will play the same regardless of which version, so I doubt there'll be many, if any differences besides visual ones.

Likewise, it depends if a person finds the 3DS or Tablet easier to work with. So we can see tourneys on both ends pretty easily.

And if the character list is identical, again, swapping between both versions could be a legitimate way to play tournaments where specific stages are favored.

I sure said that!

Exactly all the more reason why we could see both kinds of tourneys.

It's even possible a tourney could happen using both types of systems at once(3DS and Wii U) if there's a really applicable reason. I doubt it, since it's easier to just use one or the other, but we'll see. [lol]

With the reveal that Rosalina, the Star Goddess from Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, is going to be playable in Super Mario 3 D World, do you think She'll be in the next Smash Bros? They might reveal it on the day the game releases!

I was actually thinking about that. She's certainly popular among the Mario fanbase, and if making her playable makes her viable as a standalone character...

I will say that if Mario got any new reps, she would make me the most happy.

I like her a lot more than Daisy, who's a costume reference anyway. There's also the factor she has some fair chances for originality in her movesets. Of course, if she takes the Galaxy Spin and Mario doesn't get it instead...

tongue Joking aside, she'd be a neat addition. I'm still more preferenced towards Toad or Bowser Jr., mind you, But eh.

I'd rather Waluigi, personally.

At least as an Assist Trophy he moves around and attacks. Not even Toad got something this good.

...Which is kind of sad. But eh.

Even when I had a Wii, I never picked up Super Mario Galaxy. What was so popular about Princess Rosalina?

There is a ridiculous amount of porn fanart for her.

[up]Well, she has a backstory, unlike certain lumas with names starting with "L" and ending with "ubba".

She actually had her own full backstory, and didn't have a "set of guards" like Peach did, meaning she wasn't there just to be kidnapped. Daisy was essentially a new version of Peach upon creation, just being in a different set of games. Daisy performs very similar moves to Peach most of the time, minus some of her moves(namely the Special Moves) that already appear in SSB.

The other factor is that there's essentially 4 main Females(also notably on the good side, if not all the time. Minus evil clones.) among the entire Mario series(which started off with the Donkey Kong Arcade Game). Pauline, Peach, Daisy, Rosalina. The first three had the same problems of being a Damsel in Distress from the start. Pauline didn't break out of this. Peach has had a history of sometimes being the hero at least. Especially being awesome in the RPG's in SSB. Daisy is the tomboy to contract Peach, but in the platformers, was just a Damsel in Distress and nothing more. Rosalina started off as something other than a Damsel in Distress, already becoming unique due to that alone.

...The porn may or may not help for some people. [lol]

That, and as far as the Mario-verse is concerned, she's the closest thing we've seen to a (demi)goddess.

[up][up][up]

Ah, that makes sense. So the question is can she actually have a moveset that won't seem derivative of Peach? (similar body type and all)

[up]

Uh... aren't there various types of Star Spirits/Gods from the RP Gs and what not?

And of course the Mario universe has a god. A very, very angry god.

Well, considering she has the spin jump and maybe a few mechanics reminiscent of Galaxy in 3D World...

Maybe they could include a gravity mechanic or something if that's not enough to represent the Galaxy games.

[up]Prankster Comet luma as a Final Smash, maybe?

She rams her spaceship into everyone for her Final Smash.

Honestly, I love that she's the first Platformer character I can remember having a major backstory, that wasn't just All There in the Manual at best.

What the flip were they thinking make the queen bee a playable character, anyway?

Irene (4 Score & 7 Years Ago) Relationship Status: Crazy Cat Lady
#27224: Nov 13th 2013 at 6:37:40 PM

Well, her last appearance in a Mario game was Mario VS Donkey Kong. Maybe they consider her role only worthwhile if it's mainly about DK and Mario?(which makes a lot of sense, given that's her only role whatsoever so far)

She'd be neat to see in a Non-Platformer, though.

Count me in as one of those that wouldn't mind Rosalina getting in on Smash. Though I'd still prefer Daisy.
