Classic Pit looked lame. I'm really glad they gave him that redesign in Brawl.

At least he didn't look like Billy Quizboy.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIf you get back into Uprising, I've had best luck with the default control scheme, folding the left side as normal and bracing the right corner by sandwiching it between my pinky and ring fingers. You do have to unlearn how to hold a game system to get into it, but once you get it down, it's fantastically easy to handle.
I sure said that!Ah, so it looks like it's going to be in Europe as well after all.
Still, if there's no Japanese one, I'm guessing it'll just be about some of the games they're helping to localize, like Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Bravely Default.
If I remember right, Mr. Sakurai said his philosophy is he wants his game to be a complete package the moment it heads out the door, although he did say DLC can be done right (citing Fallout 3 as an example).
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaIt's possible we could see costumes for cut characters if absolutely necessary.
And yeah, his attempt is to put everyone in due to space. And so far, the only character he spoke of that he had trouble with or might not return is Ice Climbers and that's it. He also has yet to say if they're cut or back, so who knows.
Shadow?I have doubts, since the whole point of them is having two when actual fighting. It's also a pretty notable thing to the gameplay, as losing one makes a huge difference.
Namely it's not worth it with one overall to many. The current way it is is what makes them interesting as a character. Nobody else is like that.
Shadow?Yeah, it's like having a race car missing a tire- it can still work, maybe win a race. But imagine how much better it'd be if it hadn't lost that tire!
I want the Ice Climbers to return, but their playstyle doesn't suit me so I myself wouldn't be hurt if they left. I understand other people would be let down, though.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaAt that point, I'd almost rather drop the 3DS version than the Ice Climbers, and let the Wii U version spread its elbows as much as it likes.
But that's not going to happen at this point. Far too late to back out on the 3DS version.

I have a message from another time...It would never happen no matter what.
Sakurai never wanted a Wii U version and was forced to do so. The fact we have both is due solely to Executive Meddling.
Sakurai is catering to the version he wanted, possibly because... he's the developer and cares about both products and thinks both are extremely important. He also doesn't want anyone to miss out on character choices either, so is making sure that both games have the same final roster.(and he may be thinking of requiring no connecting, as his message about the number of characters is vague, but could imply)
Shadow? Can someone find irrefutable proof whether Sakurai wanted console or Portable for Smash Bros 4?
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"![]()
I remember the interview being somebody else told him to do so. Iwata.
Either way, he wants both to have the same list of characters and both matter.
So neither is droppable and really never were. They're both important to him. Making sure they have the same characters is a good thing anyway. The series is mainly about who you can play as, then we have the gameplay, but that's due to it being mainly character-driven. It's even the premise for its development.(well, kind of) It was meant to be a generic cast at first. We have Nintendo characters because he thinks they'll make it sell more. Literally. And he's right, it works. Dropping a character from one version is ludicrous as well. Since they're both technically Smash 4, having the same character list makes sense. Now, sequels are clearly not as important about returning characters. He entirely cut Pichu, proving that.(and Young Link, technically)
Shadow?

Anybody ever go back to Melee and look at Pit's trophy in that, and compare that to his redesign?
