Sakurai didn't even know that wavedashing would be used the way it was. Sakurai kept it in because he didn't seem to think it would do anything big.
Or, that's what I remember someone saying last time this conversation was had.
@New Capsule Design
Darn, that looks shiny.
I love the new model. Admittedly there's someone odd about something looking the same for so long and then suddenly changing, but it works. In fact, I think it looks better.
I am curious about one thing though. That bit in the Direct where the Capsule has the old design. Were they going to always update it and had the old design as a placeholder, or did they only decide recently, I wonder.
Also, the same thing happened on the Neogaf Smash Bros thread: Someone said the new design looked like a propane tank, and then someone brought up the Hank Hill pic.
Specifically:
That image is pretty cool, I must admit.
You know, you could be less blatant about ignoring me.
EDIT: Disregard. I realised you were linking it to the next daily pic with my "Darn, that looks shiny." line.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMIt'd be nice if they showed us some more Final Smashes. Even if they were for veterans like Mario or Pikachu.

Agreed on that.

it was Xerneas, not Yveltal.
I think the first item we saw (not counting the Metal Blade or Bombs) was the X-Bomb.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaOh, right. I forgot about that item. And I have Pokemon Y only. Easy mistake.
Anyway, I kind of want Hyper Mega Man. I really found it neat as a Super as is. Plus, something like it hasn't existed in Smash among the Final Smashes, so it'd be original enough.
I wonder if they're changing up any Final Smashes(besides possibly nerfs, like making the inevitable Super Sonic shorter or something). Other than Zero Laser, I expect Super Sonic and Fox's Landmaster.(and Zero Suit Samus' earlier one) Besides that, it's really up in the air.
Shadow?The only ones I see changing are Pit's, Peach's, Kirby's and DK's.
"See", not "want". I'm fine with DK's Final Smash if it gets a little buff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMPit's is still fine as is, although if changed I would love to see his Rain of Arrows from sky battles. (It's his bomb when he's using a Bow.)
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaPit's is kinda crap. And they're definitely gonna change it to something based on Uprising anyway.
Is it sad that I've only just realised the sword in the Fire Emblem series logo for Smash is meant to be Falchion? I've never really payed attention to the design of Marth's sword until I saw the official artwork of Marth for Smash 4.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMWait, you can do that in the actual Kid Icarus NES Game? As in summon Centurons?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMNot even then. If Palutena is playable, it's obvious her Final Smash will be the Goddess Glam Blaster!*
[*As seen in Issue #3: Heads of the Hewdraw!]
Kind of. In the dungeon levels you could free Centurions from their prisons and then, at the boss fight, they would help you fight the boss.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaThe thing is, I really, really wanted to enjoy Kid Icarus Uprising. I wanted to try something new. So I got it for my birthday along with Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D...
The controls... The controls... they're just so awkward. The air sections control fine, but are boring. But when I got to the much more exciting ground sections... the controls just made it too awkward to be enjoyable. Especially in tight corridors or that bit where you have to avoid the Reapers. I stopped playing after Chapter 4.
I haven't played it since then. I've been just clocking up hours on DKCR3D, even though I beat the Wii version 200%. It's a shame, I really wanted to enjoy it, but those controls are unwieldly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThey're also very customizable. To the point that it's possible to play it without the stylus. I couldn't tell you how well that works, since I stuck with the standard controls. Just putting that out there.
As for Pit in Smash: his Final Smash was alright, but I think that as of Uprising, he has better options. He already seems to have removed his Sacred Treasures-based moves from his basic moveset, which makes me think the Treasures have been moved to his Final Smash.
I have a message from another time...
I did have a brief look at the alternate control schemes. I seem to remember their setups (well I din't use them, but I looked at what controls they used) were awkward as well.
And although the new Upperdash Arm side-special move is cool, it's awfully similar to Raptor Boost for my tastes.

I probably will when I finish Donkey Kong 3D 200% first (because I need like to complete games 100%). I don't really have much else to play on 3DS anyway, having finished 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 a while back. Although I was thinking of getting Awakening after getting hooked on the demo.

I'd vote for a hat-and-cape Ancient Minister themed costume for R.O.B., since there's no really good proper canon choice for him.
I sure said that!
