x4 Logistically, though, Melee's air dodge makes no sense. I'd just vote for adding some extra down time between air dodges and keeping the Brawl style.
And I still don't get the appeal of retaining Wave-Dashing- All it did was create a huge skill gap and give competitive Melee its infamous reputation for consisting of two Fox players trying to shine-chain each other to death on Final Destination.

I sure said that!
Eh, I'd mostly prefer the Melee style if only because wavedashing was a fun exploit/glitch/whatever you want to call it. It added an extra layer of depth to the game when you could do stuff like a pseudo-pushblock or easy edgeguard or approaching and stuff.
That said, I do think it could stand to be a little easier to pull off if they do put it back. Project M has an option to include input buffers, maybe make it something like that.

That's why I said while there are some who can't do it, the majority can.
That's I use the phrase "not that hard to do" overall. And I do that sometimes too, but it has been easily done by people as well. An extremely difficult technique is almost entirely unusable by the majority. That's ultimately not the case for Wavedashing, so I can't legitimately call it a very difficult technique.
Well, glitch(that'd assume it was definitely not intended in any way, shape, or form, by the developers. Not the case) is a bad nickname, but yeah, I agree it's fun. Just needs to be more balanced among the cast.

Shadow?I like Brawl air dodging because in Melee, I (not being the kind of person to discover Wavedashing on my own) almost never used air dodging in Melee, because I scarcely was ever in a situation where using the air dodge was worth the panic fall, over, say, using my characer's Up B or tether.
I don't suppose anyone ever scanned that NP page and put it somewhere on the internet? Because I'd love a link o that.
So anyway.
Anyone think it'd be cool if Kirby got Ultra Sword or Flare Beam or something, from Return to Dreamland, as his Final Smash in place of Cook? Dunno how keen Sakurai would be to swap out for something from a game he didn't make, but I think it'd be cool. That or Mike.

I have a message from another time...@Nap: That reminds me. I really, really hate how they removed Brawl's buffer that prevented it from feeling stiff like Melee, and added an input buffer that's only available in Versus mode. I heard it's because of technical reasons (can't add that extra option, apparently). I wouldn't mind so much if people didn't praise the "newbie-friendly" buffer without saying "but only in Versus". They never think to warn people.
@Irene: Are we seriously debating the semantics of a word - difficult - that is always subjective? I do believe we are. Also, the whole "intentional" thing: the problem is that some people take the phrase "it was an intentional feature" to mean "the developers created it deliberately". Others use it to mean "they decided to not remove it when they could". That's why people argue over a single word: intentional.

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"That's why intentional was said with extremely specific context. You might notice how I didn't use it semantically, and explained that saying it was intentional is a useless statement. It isn't. Kind of.
Also, http://www.smashboards.com/threads/dispute-ended-new-sakurai-intervew-wavedashing-was-intentional.162416/
explains which one it was. I don't know where a scan is, though. This is the only source I could find quickly for you.
Despite the url, we know the context of "intentional" too. In Street Fighter, there was no way Combos were intentional. That wasn't planned or kept in the same game after being found out. Combos were found out by the players. The creators never knew.
In this game, when it was found out, it was only intentionally left in, but they did not create it intentionally, however. Which is a whole different story entirely. You could also just say "They like what they saw and kept it in for competitive use." and leave it at that.
Shadow?I'm fine with them changing Pit's side-special. What I am not fine with, however, it the website saying that Pit is no longer "yelping like an undisciplined toddler". Really?! Do these people have no respect for the mighty kiai?!
Besides, it feels unprofessional.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"I'd sooner Medusa be playable over Palutena. She has snake hair.
Anyway, from what I remember, Wavedashing was noticed but left in as just a quirk of the physics, but they didn't suspect it would actually see competitive use or be considered useful at all.
My philosophy regarding glitches, exploits, and pseudo-exploits like Wavedashing is that there's nothing wrong with using it if i'ts available, but they should be removed or modified by the next patch/installment.
And for the record, without Wavedashing in the equation, I prefer Brawl's directionless air dodge as well, though agree it could use with more cooldown between dodges. It's almost safer to be in the air than on the ground in some cases.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I prefer Medusa too. More villains are nice.
I like the directionless part of it too. Not so much that it doesn't put you into a fall state.(minus for Yoshi, who needed the recovery) I felt it made Brawl too defensive that way.
My vote is like Melee's, but once and with direction.

Shadow?See, it's a fine line. If airdodging puts you into panic fall, then you can't use it while recovering unless you already could reach it without an Up B.
I'd prefer if it's kept like Brawl's, but the game around it is changed to be harder to recover in the first place.
I'd also prefer Medusa first. She's got a nice variety of possible moves, and has nice villain chemistry with Pit.
But if there's any Kid Icarus thing I want, it's codec calls.
I have a message from another time...Chuggaaconroy has a Lets Play of the game if you don't mind it being spoiled for you, and he hopes for Magnus getting into Smash EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. HE. APPEARS.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."

@Irene: I've practiced with wavedashing a lot. After hours of doing so, I still jump around more often than not, accidentally triangle jump, can't keep from shielding during it, and can never use smash attacks. So, yes, it's hard to use.]
Like how everyone talks about juggling and combos, which I also have great difficulty with. I could never do the Ken Combo, even after reading up on it and watching videos of it in action.
@Nap: I prefer Brawl's because it's easier to use (I sometimes suicided by using the Melee air dodge wrong) and I could never punish the computer's air dodging in Melee anyway.
