Another thing to fix. Although I think they just make it so Computers are better at it like many things these days. Fake Difficulty is just a lovely thing, right?
I know I'm going to regret this but I can't let poor Enlong take all the heat here. -sigh- Here I go.
Which Pokemon would get Triple Finish if it was moved to a single 'mon? It wouldn't work. The whole point of their Final Smash is to show off the power of teamwork by combining all their powers at once; something they cannot do without the Final Smash. Sure you can say it is 'lame' or whatever, but that is purely subjective as I find it one of the coolest Final Smashes in the game as it really does a good job of telling a story, like Luigi's.
Mega Lucario IS important to Smash. He's the only guaranteed Mega you'll have in X/Y, since not everyone magically picks Charizard. Also, I dare you to find anything where Sakurai explicitly states that the anime comes before the game. That reeks of selective hearing/reading and I refuse to believe that without hard evidence. Lucario has also appeared in past Smash games and is a popular Pokemon, Genwunners or not. So yeah, he's relevant.
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValEvii, the games aren't noted anywhere near as much in Smash as the Anime is(especially for character choice. Where as the Anime/Movies specifically are. Time and time again, not to mention this has been specific said). No, Mega Lucario is not important to Smash at all. Mega Mewtwo Y far outweighs him because it's a movie character. Lucario's biggest thing is that he was from a movie before Brawl. That's one of the main reasons he was even good as a choosable SSB character. Mega Charizard X wins out by being an Anime appearance alone. The Pokemon games' story was never even relevant to Smash either. Like, at all. Even the Pokemon playable are based a lot around their Anime counterparts.
...So, no, I don't even expect anyone besides Mega Mewtwo Y(if Mewtwo comes) and Mega Charizard X for Megas if any show up. Mega Lucario is the lowest of the chain because it lacks the Anime appearance, which is the most important overall for Smash playable characters(and always has been).
@Cassidy: Possibly. Characters who can hit super fast like Meta Knight should take more hits. Also, Computers should have more trouble breaking it just so the human players can have less stacked against them for once.
Shadow?Fair enough, I'll drop it. But I am curious where Word of God stated that the anime was more important than the games. It'd make for interesting reading at least.

Again, not important. That's just a stage. We're talking about character choices, as I noted the context.
Sakurai looks heavily as the Anime and Movies, and ever single character choice... happens to come from them. No exceptions for playable characters at all. Pikachu in 64 was based upon Ash's quite a bit, the most blatant issues being how overpowered he was(compared to the games where he wasn't even close), and him using a move originating in the Anime. Also, heavy popularity. Jigglypuff got in over Mewtwo in 64 by a twofold reason; Easier to make since she was very similar to Kirby moveset-wise, and more popular due to Japan overall. Pokemon Trainer is implied to catch all the Pokemon due to the SSE doing that, and it's never implied he trades for them even in the Trophies, and that only happens in either Pokemon Yellow or the Anime, making him pretty obvious. Pichu, Mewtwo, and Lucario all were major movie characters. Albeit, Pichu was due to the Pichu Bros. popularity, mind you, so slightly different. The other is cause he was a clone, but again, he was part of a movie.
Some were promoted via the games, even being the mascot of it. Lucario and Pichu are Gen IV and Gen II's mascots, respectively. However, their movie appearances made them also very obvious choices. Pichu may be the only one who might not have gotten in if no clones were done. Thankfully they were, since it's the only reason we currently have Ganondorf anyway. Or Falco. Roy is a little different, as he was put in to advertise his game coming out later(in Japan). My guess is that if Sakurai didn't go with clones, we might've only seen Roy and King Dedede, but no Ganondorf(since even the Melee Japanese page says he didn't consider him at all outside of the clone aspect, which says quite a lot for the awesome villain. This is also probably why more heroes are chosen over villains, but who knows?)

Shadow? So how about music, huh? I'd sure love to see some of Xenoblade's wonderful soundtrack if Shulk gets in!
And I'd love to see the Champion theme
from Pokeom Black2/White2

I have a message from another time...![]()
Man, I sure love me some music. It would be great if they put in Red's theme since he's-- Uh, nothing.
Maybe some Bowser's Inside Story time?

James got a team based upon Ash's. Ivysaur was in there.
Bulbasaur almost evolved into an episode revolving around Ivysaur heavily.
Yep, counts.
I wish Sakurai put more non-game music in, but I doubt that'll happen. Kanto Gym Theme(Intense Action) was a spectacular piece.
He did put in the original Gym Theme from the games, though, so I got my wish, kind of. He combined it with the Evolution theme... for some reason.

If all you can do is strawman, don't reply.
All playable Pokemon have importance to the Anime/Movies. That's all there is to it. It'll probably never change either anyway, since Sakurai does it that way, considering unlike other series, Pokemon is heavily known for stuff that isn't just games, making the popular Movies and heavily popular Anime(s) very important to him.
...Which makes perfect sense, since that's where most promotion of Pokemon takes place, in the Anime and Movies. Imagine that, right? -rolleyes-(where's the smiley for this? :P)

Shadow?

It's really annoying when you hit the smash orb a ton of times and then your opponent just walks over and steals it right before you get the last hit.
