Punch-Out!! at least saw release in both Japan and America, though the Japanese version of NES!Punch-Out!! ended with the World Circuit Championship Match with Super Macho Man, while the American versions added an additional Dream Match with either Mike Tyson or Mr Dream in the later releases, since Tyson had lost his title by then and NoA didn't feel like renewing the contract.

I sure said that!Fire Emblem Gaiden is explicitly in continuity with the Akaneia games, a few characters from Shadow Dragon even feature, and its continent features in Awakening, complete with a slew of call backs and references that no one got.
The Jugdral games are stand alone in terms of plot, but the backstory implies they take place in the same world, and Word of God confirms.
The Tellius games are a bit trickier: Ike's descendent Priam appears in Awakening, but legend says that Ike came through the Other World Gate, if I recall.
However, aside from that, there are a few more references, if I remember correctly.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I wonder if Marth retains his supposed Character Derailment attitude in this game. I recalled people were annoyed with it in Melee.
Considering SSB is non-canon, you can't really have a Character Derailment.
They're either exactly the same or an Alternate Character Interpretation, and for a non-canon series, it makes sense for Sakurai to make them exactly how he wants them to be.

I said "supposed" because I know nothing about Marth's character outside of Smash. I just know that he's apparently a lot more cockier and selfish(?) according to FE fans.
To be fair, I should have used Alternate Character Interpretation, but Derailment is generally the term I've heard used.
What did?

It's apparently like this
posting the Marth/Peach screenshot in the hopes of not triggering yet another argument.

I have a message from another time...Speaking of "No Duh" characters, I'm surprised Wario hasn't been revealed yet. I'm kind of hoping he brings someone new over with him, though the most requested I've seen were Captain Syrup (not sure how she'd play) from the Wario Land series or Jimmy T., Mona, or Ashely from the Warioware titles.
Granted, this is assuming he's still considered part of his own series (as in, doesn't share the "Mario-verse" symbol in Smash).
I highly doubt Yoshi and Wario will change their symbols. Yarn Yoshi has yet to come out, so Sakurai may be waiting for that. Game & Wario appears to be the next game for Wario, so that's a most likely wait as well.
Marth is really the most surprising reveal so far. I can't pin it to any game/dlc that came out or a Direct. Meaning it's the first reveal that has no ties to anything in particular and just was revealed because Sakurai wanted to. No patterns. He is unpredictable, mind you.
Shadow?Irene: The timing of the reveal is surprising but Marth being in the game isn't surprising in the slightest. He's basically the only Fire Emblem character that's 100% guaranteed to be in the game.
edit: Isn't there going to be a Nintendo Direct soon? Maybe that will give us info about SM Tx FE and this is just preempting that.

Guys, we totally have been avoiding the most important things here. Like how Marth looks like a cross between Michael Jackson and a goth girl in this game
◊. I mean, looking at the screens, that's totally what his appearance strikes me as, specifically when I look at his head and his face.
Pretty impressive for something suspiciously not on the main site.

The Ice Climbers are notable for being in Super Smash Bros.
