After a lot of time. That hardly means much. If Snake had zero Nintendo appearances as is, he wouldn't have a ghost of a chance.

So Pac Man at least is reasonable enough. But there's still better.
There is no likely Namdai character. Especially after Sakurai is giving them zero special consideration. Anybody is possible as long as they originated in a video game(which is just about everyone in Namco, and almost every Digimon in Bandai). I can't remember any other Bandai series that originated as a video game besides them.

Knowing our luck, and that most names were unchanged from 64 through Brawl, I wouldn't expect it.
Lloyd Irving is a very good choice, due to unique properties, game popularity, and well known in multiple regions.

Shadow?Cress is also possible. He's the original Tales swordsman, and started the series on the Super Famicom.
I suppose there's also Asbel, being a user of a unique fighting style and debuting on the Wii.
Wait why is that? We assumed from the start that we'd get Marth again. First game privileges and all that. And I can see why that would bode ill for Lucina, but why does it bode ill for Chrom? Ike would be more of a nail in Chrom's coffin than Marth.
I have a message from another time...Marth is a legacy character, he was the protagonist of the very first Fire Emblem game. Saying Chrom won't get in because he's been confirmed is like saying Luigi won't be in the game because Mario is.
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSPeople think that Marth advertising Awakening on his page means something. At the bottom, it says to check out more information on him by visiting the Awakening website.
What it means is that... it's the latest game he'd have information on?
I don't see how it means a thing either. Seems really reaching. Also, as for Cress, how many games has he been in that's been in all regions? Lloyd has that over him, being more known among multiple regions. That said, there's also the unique two sword style Lloyd gets, which is why I'd take him over Cress.
Shadow?Ahhh, unique? That's tricky. See, two swords is a unique stance, but just about all of his actual moves (Demon Fang, Sword Rain, Rising Falcon, Tempest, etc) were originally Cress's. Cress's fighting style is referenced and stolen from by Tales swordsman throughout the series.
And Cress gets a fair number of showings in other games. Traditionally as an arena match alongside some other Tales heroes. His own game got at least two translations later down the line.
I have a message from another time...Only one official translation though. The PSX and SNES versions got fan translations, but the latter replaced a whole bunch of dialogue in an attempt to be funny/"edgy".

(It seems to draw influences from his New Mystery design most of all, but it isn't an exact copy. I guess kinda like how the Melee design was based primarily on his Old Mystery design, again without being an exact copy)
I am a bit surprised, considering Sakurai's comments after Brawl that if he knew of Shadow Dragon (which was in production at the time), he would have made Marth use his Shadow Dragon design. I guess being based on New Mystery technically counts...
Either way, he looks really cool.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.He's definitely one of the characters who's benefited most from the overhaul. I'm still hoping his 3DS model lacks feet, though.

...Yeah. Marth is a DLC character with no actual story connection to Awakening beyond being a distant legend. The only character from his game who does have a place in Awakening's story is Tiki.
I suppose it's more like linking to Wibd Waker to learn about the Hero of Time. You can sort of get where they're coming from, but you wonder why they don't just link to Ocarina of Time instead.

I have a message from another time...What part of "he appeared" isn't the point here?
It doesn't matter how or why he did. He appeared. He's in the damn game. End of story.
Sakurai linking those pages to their latest game appearances makes perfect sense. Because that's their latest appearance. Olimar did appear in Pikmin 3, which is why he got linked to. Toon Link is Wind Waker HD. Peach is Super Mario 3D World. Luigi is Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Sonic is Lost World.
I don't see the issue here and it's obvious why he linked Marth to the Awakening page. Because he did appear. If he didn't, he wouldn't have linked it to their latest appearance like everybody else that appeared after e3.
Yeah, I still think the comparison is completely false here. Toon Link didn't appear in OOT, which is why that point fails to present why Marth is linked to his latest appearance, like 5 other characters who are in the exact same situation.

Shadow?Relevance of the appearance should count for something.
But this is looking like an analog viewpoint trying to reconcile with a binary one. So whatever. Glad it works for you.

I have a message from another time...

There's been a few - I believe Pac-Man Vs. was an exclusive, Pac-Pix was, Pac-Man Pinball Advance is obvious. Still, the majority of his games are multiplatform and he's never really been associated with Nintendo in the public eye - he doesn't even have the whole rivalry thing going for him like Sonic does. (Then again, Snake...)
