Everyone knows it already, but the caption is: "Pic of the day. Link's downward strike was designed to change to a Meteor Smash when the tip of the sword is aligned just right at the start. However, it will be removed if it's deemed too powerful overall after some multiplayer play tests."
Interesting that Sakurai is now suggesting that there are going to be patches if the meta gets too Meta like it did in Brawl(pun intented). IIRC, the reason why there was no patches was because Sakurai didn't know how patches actually work. He said something like "If I launch a patch on the internet, some people download it and others don't, the online play will get irregular". But now it seems like Sakurai finally understood patches.
Also, Link, who was nothing on the previous games, is finally getting his so needed buff. I guess Tier H will no longer stand for Hyrule.
@Nap1100: That is the first time I ever got the impression that Turbo Mode was anything other than deadly serious. After all, they gave a lot of promotion for something that's supposed to be a parody. Still, I guess it's possible.
Apparently, the down-thrust wasn't already a meteor smash. This surprises me. Perhaps I am misunderstanding what a meteor smash is.

If the Gale Boomerang comes back- Though I actually kinda doubt it- I'd like to see the return trip function like a remote Mach Tornado-lite.
Direct downward or sharp diagonal downward launch. Think Mario's F-Air, Ganondorf's D-Air, etc. Some can be canceled from, some can't be- The competitive community calls the latter "spikes".

I sure said that!![]()
I know T.Link's was already one at certain spots (complete with a brief hop after it connects, which sets it apart from others), but nonetheless, it's nice to see them at least trying to have the original match up to him.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project
First of all: woo!
Second:Yeah, I don't think we're going to get any FE characters from Awakening now... Having Marth means Chrom and Lucina are out. We might get Robin but I doubt it.
Edit:Why would they tell us to visit the Awakening website? Marth only shows up in Awakening as a disguise. Just PR for the latest game?

x5: Well, Marth IS in the game as DLC.
Anyways, WOO MARTH. I'm a little let down that his look isn't based off of Shadow Dragon or Awakening, but I'm still fine with him.
The new art style has been pretty kind to Marth, too.
EDIT: Mathh is sxey.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaWell that was a suprise. Not the fact that Marth is in the game, but him being revealed at this point at all instead of remaining secret.
Between Toon Link and Marth (along with Luigi and Sonic) does that possibly mean that secret characters may be off the table?
Hopefully, Ike will be in this game and revelaed at some point.

It'll be interesting to see whether they dub his voice clips this time. I'm still wondering when we'll get another newcomer though.
Regarding Pac-Man: I honestly still hope he isn't in the game. Besides the Namdai partnership, there's really no reason for him to be. It's been estabished that one can make a moveset that would fit him, but even then his connections with Nintendo are dodgy at best. But that "we can't say anything at the moment" is ominous...

Agreed. There are far better Namdai choices as is, not to mention Pac Man is just everywhere anyway.
Is there even a single Nintendo exclusive Pac Man game at all? Even Metal Gear and Sonic The Hedgehog had games that never had a Sony/Microsoft appearance, making them far more intertwined with Nintendo.
Shadow?

This just in, Link's (non-Toon version, I might add) down air now has a sweetspot at the tip of the sword for a Meteor Smash, but may be removed if too powerful.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!
