http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMSeven wouldn't work out, as a Walking Spoiler.
Serious answer is Melia (summon elements and spit them at foes)
Joke answer is Reyn, who shall institute Reyn Time, in which all existence becomes pain.
The series has an occasional unfortunate tendency to throw down massive spoiler anyway. See Mother 3.
So I wouldn't write off Seven as somone they wouldn't consider. That said, Melia, or Riki would make great Assist Trophies, and I'm sure one could wrangle up a function for Reyn, Dunban, and Sharla as well.
I have a message from another time...Ah, okay.
Yeah, SSB having story spoilers? Well, it's not the actual games themselves, and I don't remember it spoilering anything key for a game that never came out whatsoever. Mother 3 was out somewhere, so somebody could already know it. I do agree with you, though. I'd rather major spoilers weren't shown at all. Although a few plot twists being shown is justified if it means a good playable character, like Zelda/Sheik.

Shadow?(I did read the rest of your post and agree with what you're saying, though, but I just wanted to address this one sentence in it out of context.)

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I don't think it matters. Mother 3 has never been released outside of Japan and never will be. The only way you could consider yourself spoiled is if you plan on playing a fan-translated ROM of it on an emulator, which isn't legal in the first place. Or, of course, if you live in Japan.

Yeah.
Though the Zelda/Shiek bit does put Zelda in an odd position, what with Shiek not really carrying over to later Zelda games, but the dual-character thing being too fun to scrap. That said, Smash has never been one to stick directly to a game, (see Fox, Falco, Falcon, Link in the first two games, Ganondorf), so it's a bit of a wash, I suppose.
Wait, getting off topic.
As for spoilers being fine if it results in a good character, I suppose so. Seven's in an odd position, as the charcter is a frankly massive spoiler from about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through the game, but is also a wonderful fighter who would make a lovely Assist Trophy.
Given the choice, though, I'd rather they stuck with a non-spoiler character, like Riki or Melia, and maybe put Seven in a gallery trophy.
You know what'd be grand? for trophies to have spoiler tags on 'em. Nothing too obtrusive, just a silhouetting of the trophy, and a warning that says it contains plot and ending details from [Game]. And give n option to turn spoiler tags off.
Illegal, but realistically what's gonna happen for a lot of people.
That said, Xenoblade isn't in that position.

I have a message from another time...I like the idea of Trophies actually saying "Spoiler", too.
And what I mean is that like with Zelda/Sheik, I'm okay with a transformation or move from a character that is somewhat of a spoiler showing up. I'm not so much okay with how the SSE gave heavy spoilers for Mother 3. That was actually a really cheap move to pull on the non-Japanese players entirely. The thing that made it worse is that we didn't even get the Earthbound Masterpiece. That was seriously pouring salt on our wounds.
That said, I still liked playing as Lucas, so that was nice at least. But yeah, I don't like the entire plot of a game being spoiled in a major way like Brawl did.
Shadow?![]()
That seems like an odd choice of console to bring it to. I would think they'd do it for the 3DS VC instead of the Wii U.
I've heard it's not worth it, really, that it only gives you enough time to get up to Buzz Buzz and that's it.
