Actually, Robin was my ideal choice for an Awakening rep. MyUnit, while already used in one FE game before, is an important feature in Awakening, and I feel that is more standout in the grand scheme of FE than "another blue haired sword lord".
You really need to read behind the lines. Your taking this at face value rather than seeing the reasoning behind it.
And as I said before, the reason for Mewtwo is NOT for being old. It's for being iconic. Stop dismissing stuff you don't agree with as invalid.

Mewtwo is also kinda-sorta a villain, too- While it's never had a major role in the plot of any of the games, it's constantly referred to as savage and dangerous.
But then we run into the problem of trying to represent a character with no set appearance, or even sex.

I sure said that!![]()
Well we use the Default (Male
◊ / Female
◊). And make it have Male and Female options, and you choose them on the character select like Zelda/Shiek, except they are skins and not separate characters.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI bought Budokai Tenkaichi 3 a few days ago (wasn't cheap), and that game has character customization. However, I don't think it will be anything like that game, so forget I mentioned it.
Normally, I'd say it's like stickers from Brawl, except allowed on other 1P modes and disallowed in Versus matches or at least online. But this thing about the direction of moves or something, I guess it means... somehow altering a move's hitboxes or whatnot?
I have absolutely no idea.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"While I do support Robin/Avatar/MU, Anna and Chrom, I wonder if Tiki would be a decent FE representative? She's been significant to a few of the games, and using both her human and dragon forms might lend itself to an interesting playstyle, as long as it wasn't a standard B transformation.
Actually, she could definitely bring something interest to the table.

Kyogre is statistically weaker than Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Reshiram, Zekrom, either Absrofused Kyurem, and any of the new Legendaries in XY. Water, however, is a very good defensive typing in Pokemon, and Drizzle is kinda broken as an ability.

I sure said that!"Strongest" is a relative term in Pokemon at this point considering a constantly evolving metagame, the constant prevalence of Elemental Rock–Paper–Scissors, and the effects of proper training. It's perhaps better to say that, in a completely unhindered environment, Kyogre is the most popular choice for teams as of Gen V (as Gen VI is too young for the metagame to achieve any stability whatsoever, although there's good cause to believe that it will stop being the #1 choice in the Ubers environment) due to the potent effect that Drizzle has on both itself and many team builds.
Kyogre is strong... that said, considering that 99% of the common Kyogre builds can't handle Shedinja (a Lethal Joke Character par excellence) and probably 75-90% (not totally sure) could not handle Gastrodon (which is halfway decent but optimized for destroying Water types), can it truly be said to be "the strongest"? But that's veering way off the topic of Super Smash Bros. and into the realm of philosophy and the meaning of the word "strength."
Anyhow, so that I'm not totally avoiding the topic... I wonder if Tabuu will be brought back in any way, shape, or form. I have to admit, even if he was no fun to play, I'd love to see the reaction if they announced a nerfed version of Tabuu was playable in the fourth Smash (with Off Waves as his Final Smash, of course).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Adding new characters is not a simple addition – it’s really multiplication. The amount of work, adding a character is multiplied and becomes bigger and bigger as you go. We can’t because of the amount of work it takes. However, I do believe I understand that each character has its own set of fans out there who really like that character.
So we’re not going to cut characters out of the way, we’re going to put in as many characters as we can, we really want to do that, because it's good for the fans and good for all of us. But in the event that we do have to cut some characters, I’d like to apologize in advance to those fans.
More reason why Toon Link should never have been in either game to begin with. The fact that he's made a return in #4 is even worse.
And if I'm not mistaken, Mewtwo was practically finished for Brawl, though for whatever reason they left him out. Just think, if they hadn't bothered with Mini-Link, they might have actually had time to put the finishing touches on him and include him in the game for real.
At least Lucario was his own unique character.
Mewtwo wasn't "practically complete"; he had a bit more info than for the others, such as a victory fanfare, but not all too much. Really, I'm tired of people going "if only they didn't waste time on thing I dislike, they might have been able to complete thing I like". For all we know, they might have known they had no time for Mewtwo, so they put together a clone to make up for it. Or, generally, that the decision to include TL had nothing to do with the decision to exclude Mewtwo.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Alright, so, Pokeball pokemon. Obviously there's Xerneas, which means that the odds for Yvetal are pretty high. I'm going to come up with some Pokeball pokemon because I feel like it.
- Yvetal - Oblivion Wing: Flies straight up, and then comes in from the background. Anyone it hits when it comes in is instantly KO'ed.
- Xerneas - Geomancy: Charges up energy for about seven seconds or so. Then it releases it, healing anyone near it and giving them short-term invincibility.
- Honedge - Double-Edge: Floats near where it spawns, and functions as an item. Honedge works like a beam sword and deals a lot of damage, but harms the user while it is wielded.
- Gogoat - Take Down: Sits there, waiting to be ridden. Once someone gets on, it charges. Can be turned by the user and dismounted at will, but won't hesitate to drive itself off a cliff if not stopped.
- Inkay - Topsy-Turvy: Floats around, and causes the screen to get wibbly. While it's out, damage taken is damage healed and vice versa.
- Cofagrigus - Imprison: If someone other than the user gets close, it grabs them and imprisons them inside its body, and they take lots of damage until they break free. (Like Gulpin but it hurts more.)
- Galvantula - Electroweb: Forms a yellow web where deployed and sits in the center. Anyone who hits it is slowed and shocked while in its radius.
Klink- Gear Grind: The two halves of Klink split apart and get on each side of a random foe. After a few seconds, they slam together, trapping the person inside and dealing a good deal of damage, before launching them straight down. Careless bystanders can also get caught up in Gear Grind, including the person who sent it out. A well-timed jump or dodge roll will save the victim from being hit at all, though.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaIt's more like "More reason why Toon Link should have been decloned".
This news was known a few pages back.
If I did, I'd probably get into disputes with people who claim they'd know my roster choice processes with the irony that they don't know I was the creator. And how I'd "coincidentally" turn out to be right every time. ![]()

Maybe the tone could stand to be ratcheted down a tad here. Let's keep it friendly.
I think the biggest strike against Krystal from Star Fox isn't that she wasn't popular in Japan; I think her biggest problem is that, outside of the Furry Fandom, she wasn't all that popular anywhere. I know that, if we were to start adding more Star Fox characters, I'd actually go with Leon or Panther first (Landmasters for everyone!). Heck, I'd be more inclined to have Slippy before Krystal, and who wasn't annoyed by him?
Oh, the mention of Assist Trophies reminds me... have those been confirmed to return yet? I see no reason why they shouldn't, but I hate to assume.
Along those lines, admittedly, nobody has officially confirmed that the original Smash characters are a guaranteed return. They shouldn't be assumed to be, and accounts suggest that Ness, at least, was touch-and-go for a bit in previous games (a shame, as he's always one of my mains, but I've been spared thus far). I personally hope so, but I'll admit that's partly fueled by nostalgia (the other part being that Ness always fit my style, and I'd like to keep using him). I'd be less concerned about Jigglypuff, though, as her playstyle was popular and distinct even though she's not anywhere near a signature of her home series at this point.
Finally, regarding Mewtwo's status as an iconic Pokemon... well, for one thing, genwunners always stick with that memory of him being the most ass-kicking 'mon in the game. And the hardcore battlers who closely follow the Metagame always know his presence - Mewtwo literally defined the metagame in the early generations, and playing in Ubers means always having a plan for dealing with him (even if he's not the number one threat of the given generation). I'll admit, when mincing oaths by citing Pokemon instead of deities, before Arceus, I'd always cite Mewtwo instead. And in the popular imagination... of the movies that got released theatrically worldwide, the most popular and thus the one that stuck in minds the best was the original. And who was the Big Bad? Mewtwo. Regardless of whether he gets into Smash or not, as a fan of Pokemon, I have to say that Mewtwo is pretty damn iconic.
