In the first Metroid Samus was roughly the same size as Ridley so they can make him smaller maybe be the same size as Bowser.
Bowser is apparently now only 3 ft tall and Mario is even shorter.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You know who might be an interesting Zelda character? Toon Ganondorf. He could use the swords-and-sorcery routine we've wanted from Original Recipe Ganondorf for a while.
That being said, I'd raher a villain other than another Ganondorf. Zant or Vaati or Ghirahim come to mind.
I have a message from another time...We already have a clone Toon Lo Z character, which is 1 more than necessary.
Better to get the swords-and-sorcery routine that Ganondorf is supposed to get attached to the actual Ganondorf than to necessitate a second one of him, too.
I mean, really? A repeat of a clone? What madness would we have to brace ourselves for next?
I guess he's saying that Samus's missiles can be caught and thrown at her, or he's just referring to the Villager's projectile grab ability. I don't remember if this was possible in Brawl (the catching, not the slicing).
Ah yes, because most of the other characters don't carry weapons around for normal attacks. Makes sense.

Man, never any love for Kraid...
Seriously, regarding Ridley, I'm fairly certain that it's canon that the Space Pirates keep making clones that turn out a bit different every time. If they did make him playable, I wouldn't be too concerned if he didn't quite match up with any previous Ridley in terms of size. He's getting remade constantly by the Space Pirates' Science Team. And as we all know, they have vapor for brains.
Also, heights have always been highly variable. Olimar shouldn't even be coming up to Mario's boot laces if they kept everything at the same scale, and either Bowser regularly takes growth and shrink potions, or he doesn't even stay a consistent size in his home series.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. The reason why the stages seem so small in Wii U/3DS is so that they can contain Ridley.
It wouldn't set a precedent, that's for sure. Donkey Kong was a stage hazard in the 75m stage in Brawl, and the Blue Falcon appears three times throughout the series in the F-Zero stages.
Ironically speaking, I actually think that Ridley's size could make an already unique fighter even more different from the other characters. I've said this before, but if he ever becomes a playable character, then he should usurp Bowser's position as the largest character on the roster, being somewhere around eye range with Ganondorf and as wide as Bowser.

Okay, fine, maybe I misremembered who is doing all the cloning, but the fact is that Ridley has been cloned multiple times. (Also, it's not outrageous to assume that the Spice Pirates would at least try to clone Ridley... if anything, that might be one of the more sensible things that they could try, and they've certainly cloned worse things - like Metroids).
Upon reflection, in general, it doesn't seem like Nintendo has ever been too concerned with consistency with scale or even shape across their games. Remember when Hyrule was just a mirror of the state of Washington? Or where on Death Mountain one could find Spectacle Rock? So, in short, they could make Ridley the size of Kirby for giggles (Kirby-in-Smash, since Kirby is another in the same boat as Olimar if we go by original size scale) and it wouldn't matter to me. All that would matter is that he has his own playstyle.
Though if they did make Ridley larger than anyone else, he better be damn good at zoning. Being too large of a target would be a huge liability, if you pardon the pun.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. For reference: the state of Washington
and Zelda 1 Hyrule

Assuming you meant it's actually mirrored, not just copied, I can see two lakes that look the same, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca is in roughly the same place as the Zora river, but that's it.

Sonic's about Mario's size, maybe a bit taller, and in this picture
◊ Bowser looks to stand about a head taller than Mario... so yeah, maybe it is just perspective.
