I am confused.
I have a message from another time...In a twist, Classic Mode in Brawl was the most boring thing I ever played. It was long, tedious, the fights weren't that good, and the lack of most Mini-games bored me to tears.
I certainly hope it goes back to being as good as Melee's was. Which means actual stuff to do besides fights and two generic Target Tests.
I wouldn't have minded it so much if there was three mini-games minimum, and the fights were completely random. But well, they weren't, sadly. :/
64's was somewhat boring, but at least the mini-games were fun. Melee's still had some better ones to do. Brawl's were... extremely boring since everybody went through the same ones. The entire time. Melee and 64 had specific ones to each character, at least the Target Tests. I was never a fun of pure generic stuff. For will probably fix that, though.
Fun for some, not for me.

Shadow?I'll contend definitely that Brawl's Classic Mode was definitely a step back from Melee's. Especially the generic Target Test stages. I realize time constraints...but couldn't they at least import the Melee stages for the veteran characters?
Hell, even DLC character-specific stages would've been nice...but, then, this was long before Ninty started embracing DLC in any form.
Brawl couldn't have DLC unless it was on the disc already. The Wii doesn't allow unique DLC. I forgot how it worked exactly, but anything that wasn't already pre-programmed wasn't handleable.
To put it another way, the Wii couldn't handle new DLC, just planned ones. Gah, it's hard to explain.
Basically, it wouldn't have worked. And yeah, that was my big issue with the Target Tests. I very much loved the Co-Op, though. I would've added some unique ones, while keeping the extra Target Tests for Co-Op fun.
Shadow?I dislike the Lottery from Melee quite a bit. At 150 trophies or so, here's how it goes: spend half an hour playing around with Versus or several one-player modes, spend all the coins at the Lottery, get a trophy you already have. This happens the majority of the time for me. It's just that coins are very difficult to get and harder to save in Melee. In Brawl, you get hundreds of the things, continuing costs a couple dozen at most, and then spending time at Coin Launcher gets you plenty of new trophies while still being fun.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"I should have mentioned this earlier, but Melee's C-stick in 1P especially hurts when I play as Ganondorf, one of my favorite characters to fight as. There were plenty of times when I tried to use his Up-smash, but accidentally performed the Volcano Kick. I really hate it when that happens.
I have a bit of an interest in going to Apex 2014 this January. I may not have gone to any tournament before or even be that good at the games, but it's only an hour and a half away from where I live. If I'm able to do so (I may very well not have the time or money), I'd likely main as Ganondorf in Melee or Project: M, and Mr. G&W in Brawl. Should I write about something that may end up not happening?
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"They should have combined Coin Launcher and the Lottery mechanic, whereby you could accelerate the likelihood of new trophies appearing by playing for higher stakes: at a 1:1 coin-shot ratio, the rate at which you get trophies is weighed in favor of trophies you have. 2:1 it's totally random (get trophies you have or new ones, every non-event trophy has an equal chance of appearing), 3:1 it's slightly weighed in favor of new trophies, 4:1 heavily weighed in favor of new trophies, so that, much like Melee, you can burn through quicker if you've accumulated a lot of coins. This way if you play the game often from the very beginning of your ownership of For, you can take advantage of each mode, since when you have very few trophies and very few coins, 1:1 will pay off until you get around 25% of the trophies. 2:1 will statistically likely pay off until you get around 50% of the trophies, and by that point you should have coins enough to roll in 3:1 and 4:1 modes.
I think the Coin Launcher was good, but I'd like it if it gave an indication to which trophies are new and which are old (Such as if new trophies have a little "New!" bubble above them), and rework how Stickers are earned.
Of course, as with many things, I'd just ask "Why not both?" It would be a bit excessive, but having both a lottery and coin launcher could work if differentiated enough.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I didn't care much for Catch the Trophies, or whatever it was called.
I like Target Test and Race to the Finish. I don't care much for Board the Platforms since it feels too similar to Target Test (The core objective of reaching 10 different spots is the same)
I'm trying to think of a more original minigame, but I can't.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
