The C stick was at least invaluable for aerials. It's the only way I could use Dairs without fast falling.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI wouldn't go so far as to call it a Scrappy Mechanic (mostly because I barely used the C-stick anyway), but yeah, that was a really wierd switch of how it was used. I mean, why would you ever want to make the camera closer? It's not like you couldn't keep track of your character well enough.
Speaking of Stadium modes, since I never played SSB 64 for more than one night (but what a night,....
it was a fateful night of July 2004, four months before getting Melee), I'd like to see the platform mode return to play it more extensively.
EDIT: To avoid confusion, I mean platform as in that mode where you seek for some boards and stand onto them.

135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311No, man, Giga Bowser had totally shown up in a Nintendo game before then. He was the secret hidden boss in a really out-of-the-way room in Super Metroid.
Meh. I'd rather see Race to the Finish return.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I miss Board the Platforms. It was a nice fun thing that felt specialized. Well, mainly because it was.
I'm not a fan of purely generic bonuses. I like the ones that actually are specific to a character. I get that Brawl had little time to work on them, and even Melee was packed for time. For shouldn't, though, so we might see the less Generic Bonuses back. I'd like Classic to return them all. If they have a very long mode, it'd fit in fine. In the order of Break the Targets > Grab The Trophy > Board The Platforms > Race to the Finish. You could arguably exchange GTT and BTP instead, though. Race to the Finish would be even better if they stuck to something akin to the first game's. Showing off the Generic Fighting Team was fun.
Shadow?Ten times better than what Brawl gave us, which is no way to really reliably get any Trophies. Coin Launcher took literally forever(and you could barely get any, never mind ones that were new...), All-Star was extremely boring, even more linear than the first SSB(at least your partners and the Kirby Team wasn't specific. Nor was the Race to the Finish or VS Fighting Polygon Team).
Melee did it best. Stickers didn't even need to be available during Coin Launcher, since they were hell easy to grab during Multiplayer.
Shadow? They're entirely random, but more than often enough new ones. It also was 3 at a time, so you could get about 4 new Trophies per run. Classic was also shorter in Melee.
All-Star is the only way to get any Trophies in Brawl at a decent pace, except that that version of All-Star is tougher due to extremely uneven fights. Meaning it's not reliable when it's pretty easy to die, meaning getting any new ones, if you even find a new one, is overly tedious and difficult.
They should've at least kept the Lottery in as well.
Shadow?I dunno, I liked the Coin Launcher—it was at least dynamic and tried to keep your interest. Hell, I'd argue playing that over and over is far more reliable and faster than playing classic mode over and over just to get to that bonus stage to maybe get a trophy or three.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Getting the regular Trophies in the Bonus stage wasn't very hard at all. Coin Launcher isn't that good, because it barely gets you any Trophies, never mind new ones, and is less reliable entirely.
The Lottery was definitely better at it, since you could input enough Coins to always get a new one. Which was pretty useful.
No, playing forever on the Coin Launcher doesn't make it good. It's nice it was there, since it was indeed fun, but having other options to get Trophies would be good too. In addition, you mostly got Stickers from the Coin Launcher anyway, which is what the main problem with it was.
Shadow?

Eh, I always just used the control stick + A button method of doing smashes anyway. I like to charge up my smash attacks when I can.
