Still just awesome like that
@Enlong: That misses my point. Both of them take things from the game(s) they're in and utilizes them. Peach doesn't have much of her own unique stuff. Parasol and Frying Pan were it by the time of Melee. More than one character could slap, high kicks weren't that big of a thing. Tennis Racket and Golf Club are definitely not specific, same with her Vegetables. Toad too. So she has 3 specific moves, but at least 3 that were normal among the entire cast.
I get what you're saying, though.
@Beorc: Wait now I'm confused. Was Licas a typo and Enlong meant Lucas?

Shadow?I never could find a clear source for that. Just a rumor on it. Another rumor about Melee also had Pokemon Trainer as an idea for Melee, as well as Sakurai wanted a G/S Pokemon.(Pichu himself was a last minute addition due to clones. We have no idea who he would've chosen for a G/S rep if the clone bit didn't come up. It was just a "ooh, if it works...")
However, there's no denying he used the model from OOT. I still find Ganondorf a perfect example of this.
In the game, he did ground pound with his fast, causing an earthquake. We can see him doing a super powerful punch in-series. Meaning his moveset makes legitimate sense, close or not. He's also a powerful wizard. While he fights like a monk, he still shows off the idea of the Triforce of Power. Even better in Brawl, when he summons one of his Ganon variations for a move.
Shadow? That's not to say Ness was ever balanced well. Okay, he was better in Brawl, so that was probably fine. Still, I wish he had a good triple jump, or at least have PK Thunder 2 easier to perform. I know it's supposed to be Difficult, but Awesome, but it sucks even when I manage to get it. Yoshi doesn't have a triple jump, either, but I consider that to also be a flaw.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"He didn't have much to work with. Also, I'm more happy with his current move set as it was already unique anyway.
To me, being unique from the current cast is somewhat important. I'd rather change up Lucas a bit. His Up B and Forward B could use something else. PK Ice and his version of PSI Shield work differently enough. PK Fire and PK Thunder are too similar to Ness'. Oh, and Star Storm, obviously.
I'm also very happy a lot of moves from the entire Mother cast got in. Peach did that a bit showing off other Mario games besides Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. She brought in RPG, Golf, Tennis, and 2 USA.

Brawl fixed that. His second Jump was already good, but his Up B now gives him a boost. Combine that with two Air Dodges, and well...

Shadow?I heard that Project M gave Lucas Offense Up, replacing PK Freeze, which itself replaces PK Fire. Anyway, for this move you hold B to charge up power. Charge it enough, and Lucas' next smash is stronger. Being hit during the charge cancels it. A partial charge does nothing, but it can be held by shielding or rolling.
I'd need to buy a 2GB card to know the specifics.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Besides a Bowser's Castle stage, I'd like a stage based on the Air Battle portion of Lightning Battle, from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Functioning similar to Brawl's Space Armada stage, with you flying on something while the battle between the Underworld and Viridi's forces rages in the background. Maybe with Pit being able to contact Palutena, Hades, Viridi, and Phosphora like the Star Fox crew can do on their stages.
Plus, dat music:
