Aw yeah! Sanic! Good to see him back, and another one for the bingo card! I'm on a freakin' roll!
...Unfortunately his square is not in any of the lines that cross with any of the other marked squares, so this didn't exactly bring me much closer to winning. For whatever degree of "winning" one can achieve in such a "game" of "bingo."
"We're home, Chewie.""His World" is explicitly a theme for Sonic, similar to "It Doesn't Matter", just like "All Hail Shadow" was for Shadow (which would make sense since Sonic 06 was intended to be a celebration for Sonic). They just used the instrumental version in Brawl (probably because of the lyric "Kickin' ass fast," being in the song).
The rest of them in Brawl are game-related though.
But yeah, Phantom Pain is on its way, so it's not like Snake wouldn't have anything to hype up if he made it in the fourth game.

Shocking reveals? Aside from our favorite space pirate dragon, I'd say anyone from Fire Emblem not named Marth, Ike, or Chrom. Possibly most Pokemon announcements aside from Jigglypuff. Probably Waluigi, Boswer Jr, or Kamek. Palutena and Medusa as well. Plus Shulk. Those are the obvious ones I can think of.
Solaris had its own theme (the first form's battle music), heard throughout the game in cutscenes involving it. The orchestrated version of "His World" used for the second and final part of the battle was just SEGA using the primary theme (Sonic's in this case) as the epic final battle tune, like "Live and Learn" and "Open Your Heart" was before.
The main reason "His World" is heard throughout that game is also because it was just called Sonic the Hedgehog, so of course his own theme would be all over the game. They used two different themes for every other Sonic game before it (a main theme such as "Open Your Heart" and "Live and Learn", then the character Leitmotifs), which is why I consider 06 to be an exception to that rule, as Unleashed started the trend for a single game-spanning theme (and the credits tune).
There's also the fact that "His World" is a Bragging Theme Tune about Sonic. The other main songs were more thematic to the game they were in (especially "Live and Learn", "Sonic Heroes", "Endless Possibility", and "Reach for the Stars"), but "His World" really doesn't have anything to do with the theme or plot of 06 (a couple of other songs, such as Princess Elise's, do though).
Anyways, I don't want to drag this on too long since it doesn't have much to do with Smash anyway. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter. If you don't think "His World" is a personal song for Sonic, then that's fine. I just hope they add in more remixes or arrangements this time.
I really wish there was a Shadow song in there, since he has some damn good ones. Or at least something like the multiplayer battle themes from Adventure 2. Or even E.G.G.M.A.N.
Keep in mind I consider the main theme not to be equivalent to the main characters' theme. To me, the instrumental version is specifically the game's theme, while Sonic has the lyrics version. But I get what you mean too.
It's just funny his own theme is from a game that kind of bombed. Although Secret Rings didn't fare well either, to be fair.
Shadow?

I don't see anything weird about it. It's a good song and it's from a Sonic game. It fits perfectly.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
