Right, the "party game" mechanics of Smash, which is honestly the "intended" way to play.
Continue writing our story of peace.Nintendo is never going to pivot away from the party mechanics that give the game widespread appeal in favor of ones that only satisfy the hardcore demographic, whether Sakurai is there or not.
Caling the randomness bad game design is a massive reach.

yeah no that's like genuinely the DUMBEST thing Sakurai has done imo
like
what is bro on about 😭
at this rate, don't include unlockable characters! people will just go look how to unlock them up!
Welcome, my little friend! Or should I say...friends?I'm not sure it really matters 15+ years later.

Again, that's a myth. Surprised it still makes rounds, though a part of me thinks because a fan project just got "revived" so once more clueless shitflinging happens.
Sakurai did lament that cutscenes end up being in youtube, but not because people were going to lose interest or anything. He stated that they'd lose the surprise or context of the cutscenes. But he didn't remove their existence and "deleted" them. Nor how this is tied to SSE not being a thing anymore. You know what we got instead?
Cinematic character trailers since Smash 4. That was his response. Why make ingame cutscenes when you can make them as trailers instead, without needing context? They become timeless too.

Smash could be developed by EPD, and from Mario Kart we know their philosophy on roster choices
Exactly. Mario Kart rosters can be downright awful.
-Witty line-I’d be down for the next Smash game to be at HAL once more with Kumazaki directing. Even if there’s the risk of Modern Kirby getting too much representation (not that it’s a bad thing) it’d be better than a roster in a EPD developed Smash game
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameIf Sakurai cannot or will not direct another SSB game, Kumazaki's my top pick for successor.
Even so, I think Sakurai's style is inimitable and, while I don't agree with every development choice he makes with SSB, I do think the series just wouldn't be the same without him and his work ethic.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! What other IP did Sakurai handle?
Something before Kirby...or since Smash Ultimate.
Nothing in between. From 2012.

I just don't believe this. First, according to Sakurai, the proposal for Air Riders was accepted instantly, which doesn't make it sound like it was part of a major negotiation. Second, I have serious doubts this guy knows anyone high enough up to realistically be saying that. Third... I don't think Sakurai is going to be involved with Smash 6. If they wait for Sakurai to finish Air Riders first, the earliest Smash 6 could reasonably release is 2029, way later in the console's lifespan than any previous Smash title
