Byleth's moveset has always felt like they made four different good movesets and then cobbled them together. They don't flow or feel good in one moveset - it feels very messy and like a poor way of implementing the weapons from Fire Emblem. A better way of doing it would've been to have just made four different movesets and swap between them with down-b. And before you say that's too much work, they already did Pythra and Pokemon Trainer. This would not be much harder then that.
The moveset seems to work pretty well since the've been buffed...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Eh, my personal taste is that sometimes it gets annoying how fan service can define a character design more, like how Female Byleth is really just sexy alt Male Byleth. Like original Mythra is trying too hard, and original Pyra is ridiculous because she is covered head to toe while her midsection is so exposed as much as they could possibly do. It's like she's wearing an inverse bathing suit. Their designs are Bayonetta-style over the top fan service.
Reminds me of an episode of MST 3 K where a woman is woken out of bed wearing a nighty and the camera lingers on her at chest level for 30 seconds while Tom goes "OK, breasts, we GET it!" Fan service is always a thing, but sometimes it can get annoying if people focus on it too much.
Wasn't there controversy or complaints about Soul Calibur Ivy's outfit being ridiculously revealing?
-Witty line-Yea, but those people were always going to complain either way. Even though she does have a more modest alt & you can actually go out of your way to give her an outfit to your liking.
Along with Dimitri, I would've loved them being alt outfits for Byleth. Granted, it would've been a major disservice to their characters but that was a compromise I was willing to make. The only real problem I can think of is what they can do about the Creator Sword? I suppose Edelgard would also be a problem, but I find that to be pretty irrelevant.

I don't have a problem with Byleth's moveset. I could see a weapon switching Down+B working, though. After all, it's an element of my moveset designs for Travis Touchdown and Champion Cynthia (linked in my master post). I could also see it working for a potential Monster Hunter fighter. And it's sort of how I would redesign Chrom and Lucina.
The only reason I didn't mention Dimitri is because while I'm glad others like him, he's just not my type, and I really like Edelgard and Claude. Nothing personal.
I've edited my master post
of how I'd change certain Smash characters, and what new characters I'd add. Most relevant to current discussion is how I'd change Chrom and Lucina.
- New throw animations:
- Change Neutral+B to Class Ability: Effect depends on what class they are, where class is changed by Down Special.
- Lord: Astra (skill)
- A five hit sword combo.
- Archer: Charges and fires a bow.
- Cavalier: Aegis (skill)
- Uses their shield to reflect projectiles.
- Lord: Astra (skill)
- Change Side+B to "Dual Strike
": Summon Robin (Chrom) or Morgan (Lucina) to use the Thunder special. The level of Thunder rises between Thunder, Elthunder, and Thoron based on how long it's held.
- Change Up+B to Aether Drive
, one of Ike's customs.
- Change Down+B to "Reclass
": This pulls up a menu with three options, allowing them to change the weapon used for their Neutral Special. Each weapon also has an associated passive fighter ability (skill).
- Lord: The default class. Rightful (skill)
gives Smash attacks a 10% chance to crit.
- Archer: Chrom/Lucina wears a bow on their back. Luna (skill)
increases damage on swords attacks by 5%.
- Cavalier: Chrom/Lucina wear a shield on their arm. Defender (skill)
decreases damage taken by 5%.
- Lord: The default class. Rightful (skill)

I assume that's a wishlist for wanted characters? That's... not really organized in a way to make it clear what you're talking about.

They could've usd some of the custom moves that didn't work out for more echo fighters. I implemented them similarly to that under my master post's section on "delta fighters", at the end.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyConsidering it lists Smash 64, it's pretty clearly is despite a slight bit lacking in context.
...I should do one of those at some point(though I wouldn't cut a character anyway, just add more. Unrealistic, sure. Though I'd also change a tiny few movesets, mostly to differentiate some Echoes a bit more).
Shadow? At the very least, Palutena and Megaman's unused custom moves from 4 should have been repackaged into making Medusa and Protoman playable.
But several 3rd parties have such easy echoes that they could make like Simon and Richter.
Sonic/Shadow
Snake/early series Raiden
Megaman/Protoman
Cloud/Zack
Bayonetta/Jeanne
Luminary/Erdrick (seriously, Erdrick not being the default is like making the default Dr Mario while Mario is an alt skin)
Steve/Alex (instead of being an alt costume)
Kazuya/Jin or Heihachi
Sora/Roxas (hell, echo status here is canon to Kingdom Hearts!)
Ms Pacman wouldn't work because of the legal nightmare around her.
Banjo and Kazooie don't have another character like themselves in their game.
I'm not too familiar with Terry's characters but odds are someone can easily be picked.
Joker is unique, could someone copy him?
Ironically Sephiroth has copies in his game but no one close to his playstyle.
-Witty line-Surprisingly, not really. While he has practiced under a specific martial arts, he has also freestyled his actual fighting style where other characters don't really share it. The closest character who really has similar moves to Terry is Rock Howard, but he also has his own moves and some moves taken from his father Geese. Like Reppuuken is similar to Power Wave in some aspects, but different in other.
Only sometimes postsShadow doesn't really fight like Smash Sonic, though. And Heihachi doesn't fight like Smash Kazuya. Jin would be closer.
What issues are there regarding Ms Pacman?
Following a MockRockTalk video
, I organized the characters I made movesets for into tiers, based on how much I'd actually want them in as playable characters.
- S: Travis Touchdown, Shantae, Tails, Agumon
- A: Eevee, E.M.M.I., Chun Li
- B: Viewtiful Joe, Yoshimitsu, Champion Cynthia, Mii Mage, Morrigan Aensland
- C: Cia (Hyrule Warriors), Daroach, Yuna, Lara Croft, Chell
- D: Tabuu, Max (Shining Force), Carmen Sandiego, Risky Boots
- E(choes): Black Shadow, Dixie Kong, Medusa, Ms. Pac-Man, Proto Man

The sad, REAL American dichotomyWhat fate awaits collectibles?
I doubt they'll go back to trophies for real life reasons in that they require too much effort for something aesthetic. I doubt they'll reuse spirits for in-universe reasons since that would require Galeem and Dharkon to survive or bring in new Eldtrich Abominations which is pointeless since they'd be filling the same roles.
I really miss trophies. Back in Melee my brother and I had this game we'd play where one of us would pick a trophy, then zoom in at a weird angle, then show it to the other and they'd have to guess which trophy it is. Course, in Brawl they took away a bunch of movement and rotation options so we couldn't play anymore.
They still made new models anyway...
It's not like they were consistent...

I'd only accept Claude if his portrait on the CSS is upside down.
In all seriousness, I can see Claude being a very agile zoner with a ridiculous pressure game and that sounds pretty sweet.
Get taxed. Idiot.
