To avoid another "Too many swordsman, are there?" situation (where a playful jab is taken as an insult), I'd make it clear Byleth had no idea their invite was stolen, and the other fighters are mad at Sothis for taking it. Waluigi attacks Byleth either way because if he can't fight the person who stole it, the greenie that got into Smash because of it will do just fine.
The concept of Byleth teaching a class only for Waluigi to bust in Phoenix Wright-style demanding to know who stole his invite is, however, very amusing to me.
I really don't give a damn who's the next character is. If it really is Waluigi, why should I lose my shit over him?
Sure, he's overrated as hell, but that doesn't change the fact the roster gets bigger because of his inclusion. On top of having another antagonist character & a Wario character (still don't know why he's not considered one besides not actually being in a Warioware game.)
I'm just tired of all the hate Fire Emblem gets because Sakurai's team can't figure out that not all the lords should be based on Marth. Roy will never stop being the biggest victim of this.
I already despised the Fire Emblem franchise, so why should I be pissed about Byleth's inclusion?
Sonic was the only character I ever requested that managed to make the cut, but ever since then I never got any of my characters I've been requesting since Brawl.
I doubt any of them are going to be in the game since they're already Assist Trophies & I don't see why I should be mad about any of the upcoming DLC characters not being the characters I wanted?
Ken had his thunder stolen when Incineroar beats him.

It's like he "a" echo or summit.
And therefore would've had his thunder stolen regardless, because why would an echo fighter suddenly get his own trailer?
For the same reason Richter had one
Shared with Simon...
Being a third-party character comes before being an Echo character. That's how I see it, at least.
That's my assumption, though both Richter and Ken also benefit from being very easy to piggyback onto the trailers of other fighters released at the same time.
The previous trailers had characters share some kind of theme with the newcomer.
What reason would there be for a bandicoot, an alien, or man seen only in mirror images to mess around at either a religious school or a continent with no name?
Corrin deserves to be flogged for all eternity but it wouldn't make thematic since for him to be clowned on by say... I don't know.... Bub and Bob's trailer

Clearly Crash would bash Sonic & Mario.
His plate-forming rivals and as a reference to "not" Crash, he can put them in a hospital.

Well, Nintendo just had a Mini-Direct, and they finally announced who the next Fighter is going to be.
An ARMs Character, for June. You can see it here:

Well, the game in question does deserve proper representation in smash.
Surprised itís someone from a franchise with an assist trophy already present, especially since said assist trophy is the most likely candidate from the game.
There's only 2 characters that'd actually be cool from that "an" ARMS series character...but only one is likely and the MOST likely.

Why are we hiding it in spoilers? Everyone with a brain can figure it out in 5 seconds via:

Either way, this confusing and fairly weaksauce of a reveal was still more positively received than Byleth.

Man, it's that easy?
@page topper: "Jobbing" is a term from wrestling, meaning to "do the job" of taking a loss, often a heavily one-sided loss, to make the winning party look good/strong.
HOES MEH'D. And count me as one of those hoes. It's unexpected, but underwhelming.

Everyone has been a protagonist so far from any given game unless that game already has a protagonist in Smash, but Spring Man's already an Assist Trophy so it'll probably be Ribbon Girl instead.

Elma and Savvy Stylist are back on the menu.
Wonder why they didn't just reveal the character in question at once, there's only a few this is likely to be and one's an Assist Trophy... Either way, didn't expect this

I feel like an AR Ms character is underwhelming as a first character for this second pass.
I'm gonna be that guy and say that they only said an ARMS character. They didn't specify who. So all we know it won't be Springman. And for the record, ARMS only has 5 spirits, only half of the cast are spirited. Granted, that meant fan favorites Min Min and Twintelle are, but Helix, Lola Pop and Max Brass aren't.
I dunno, I could see them having a surprise character, since Spring Man is already an Assist Trophy and Spring Man and Ribbon Girl are already Mii Costumes. If they're going to go with someone other than those two, the most likely candidates are probably Min Min (she's easily as popular as Ribbon Girl) or Dr. Coyl (the main villain of the game).

Ribbon Girl, Twintelle, Min Min and Ninjala, all the most popular and recognizable ARMS characters, are Spirits too so I suppose we'll find out in June if that disqualifies any of them.
If Spring Man makes it in than it's open season.
DLC characters tend to not be very surprising or weird outside the pseudo-free one we got at the start of Ultimate's DLC life. But than ARMS as a choice at all is both of those things, so who's to say.

Looks like Bandana Waddle Dee and Geno might still have a shot after all. I feel like whoever the ARMS character is will be a much better version of Little Mac.
Little Mac's moveset is already almost perfect for an ARMS character, just give him stretchy arms.
Especially considering the ARMS characters can punch in the air.
