They might play with the format a bit, but they can't actually tease something and not deliver without huge backlash (unless it's something literally no one wants). So at most I think it'd be a fake real fakeout, have it look like they really aren't coming and someone else is instead then actually showing them later. That would require revealing the next two at once though, which I don't think is very likely.

I missed the part where that's my problem.I think the joke only makes sense for K. Rool and Banjo-Kazooie with that setup.
It's been 3000 years…It's fun knowing that speculation is actually fun this time around
Uni catThink they’re a fusion between Rosalina and Ice Climbers, a trio of duo characters
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.I think Banjo and Kazooie are more like Duck Hunt (fittingly enough). Technically two characters, but they're joined at the hip and function like one character.

They're basically a more straightforward Duck Hunt, yeah. And Hero seems like a more fleshed-out version of Robin than anything else.
It's been 3000 years…I've been watching some Japanese streamers and they were legitimately overjoyed when the Luminary was revealed, even more so when the other DQ heroes where shown as skins.
Personally, i'm happy that i can play as the hero from DQ 8.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"With Solo's other costume being apparently based around the first introduced Hero from Dragon Quest 1, I got my default alt. It's my favorite game in the series. Nice and simple.
...But when the only games I've played were 1, 2, Dragon Warrior Monsters 1, and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Cobi's Journey, you tend to not be too picky.
Also, I know DQ Monsters 1's character is named Terry as well. Is that any relation to the VI hero? Or just a coincidence?
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Yes, the main character of Dragon Quest Monsters is Terry from DQVI as a kid. Considering he was just a party member in VI, that's quite a step up.

This song needs more love.I like the Hero's moveset, but I feel sorry for Isaac fans. Seems a style that he would use but I never touch Golden Sun so what would I know? I think they have the most versatile Ultimate so far. Pretty dumb that there's female alt. Is it really that hard to add more color scheme when I've seen so many other fighting done it before?
Overall I still rather have Chrono but I'm more amaze that there's another Square rep. I like to think that means there'll at least be more FF soundtrack but that seems unlikely. Honestly I'm just ecstatic to see Toriyama's artstyle in Smash. Didn't think that would ever happen.
I wish I was more excited the most requested character being in the game, but I just can't. I'm not sure since Banjo is using Kazooie as a club. That really should have won me over but it didn't. Maybe because I'm unfairly comparing it to K. Rool's trailer. The trailer was still hype.
There's anyone know where the source of this image is?◊
Apparently BK was trending more on Twitter in Japan, so that image isn't truthful.

Really Japan is excited about both.
The West is the only one with issues about one of the characters.
This song needs more love."Apparently" isn't "definitely"
And like i said, Japanese streamers were definitely happy to see the Luminary.
Yeah, they were happy for both.
Ridley was the one where they went "That's for the westerners".

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Alright so my hype wore after a bit and I finnaly got some sleep. Now that I'm rested I still have to say that it's really surreal for me to know that the protags from 4 Dragon Quest games are in Smash now along with Banjo & Kazooie.
Aside from Isaac and Bandanna Waddle they were my biggest wants for Smash characters. I can safely say that I am very happy with these two reveals.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff.I like the Hero's moveset, but I feel sorry for Isaac fans. Seems a style that he would use but I never touch Golden Sun so what would I know?
Eh, kinda? Isaac does use a combination of sword + magic, but his brand of magic (called Venus Psynergy) is more just pure earth magic, while The Hero was shown using fire, electricity, wind, and various buffing spells.
Isaac's basic layout of Psynergy in his home game is Quake; where the ground beneath the opponent moves up and down violently, Spire; where he creates stalactites above the opponent's head that fall on them, Gaia; where a hole opens up in the ground beneath the opponent and pure earth elemental energy blasts them from below, and Ragnarok; where Isaac creates a giant energy sword above his head that flies forward, stabs the opponent, and explodes.
Of course, the Isaac Assist Trophy does none of these things. His moves there are Move, Lift, Pound, and Teleport, all of which are puzzle solving Psynergy for the overworld that you can't even use in combat.
@119212 That attack was the Breegull Bash in Tooie, unlocked by giving Heggy the Pink Mystery Egg.
There's also a glitch where it opens doors.

The Protomen enhanced my life.
Thanks for the clarification.
Is that only Tooie? Because I really don't remember it being in the 1st one.
Actually I was just looking for the link for image source. I saw that link earlier on reddit but I couldn't find it.
It's only in Tooie, since you keep the movies from Kazooie by default and unlock even more moves.
The Protomen enhanced my life. There's only two things I don't particularly like about The Hero: one being that his design is (imo) less interesting than everyone else in his series, which is alleviated imo by the fact that you can just use the other characters as alt costumes instead.
The other is that a bunch of his normal and (apparently) regular specials are pretty obviously taken from the other swordsmen in the series, so his regular gameplay doesn't look particularly unique. I was watching the video with other people, and several of them even thought he was an echo fighter before seeing some of his other stuff: he's not, of course, but his moves are a hodgepodge of riffs on other characters' techniques.
Otherwise, I have zero interaction with his series (though upon hearing that his is a classic JRPG that hasn't changed itself into an action RPG in modern times, that's very much changed - I might get the game advertised in the direct when it comes out), so I'm entirely ambivalent (that is, neither especially positive or especially negative) about his inclusion.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I was hoping the princess from II might make it in, but since she uses magic, probably not. (In my GBC game she was named Erin!)
The Protomen enhanced my life.Which one?
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"The funny thing is that the designs are some of the first ones that other JRP Gs took inspiration from. So them looking generic makes sense because they are the original JRPG heroes.
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!If there's more than one, it doesn't exactly matter now does it?
