Breaking news.
Olimar is broken in WOL. His pikmin are bugged and the damage they done if you equip certain damage spirits can allow them to one shot most fights
Uni catWell, that'll make my Olimar Challenge Run for World of Light really easy. Good.
It's been 3000 years…I've had Smash Ultimate for about a week now. I spent the first few days playing Classic Mode and versus matches unlocking all the characters, before finally tackling and finishing World of Light. Now I'm focusing on completing Classic Mode with every character, and also unlocking all the Mii Fighter costumes.
Speaking of which, I'm disappointed that the Mii Fighters' height and weight no longer change in accordance with the Mii used. I get that they wanted to have the Miis more realistically proportioned in general, but a subtle difference still would've been nice, even if I can no longer have Miis that are either Mighty Glaciers or Pint Sized Powerhouses.
I'm still not sure what to think about Joker being one of the DLC characters. On one hand, he feels like another situation like Cloud back in Smash 4 (a character who has nothing to do with Nintendo other than a few spin-off games), except Joker and Persona 5 don't have the same "very important to gaming history" aspect. On another, from what little I've seen, he seems like he'll be more interesting than Cloud, and his inclusion does mean that not all of the DLC will be safe and easily-predictable picks like a Fire Emblem: Three Houses character.
This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute.So... I'm at the end of World of Light and still quite a few (200+) Skill Spheres away from filling out the skill tree (with currently... 70-80ish unused ones if I remember right). I got all the unlockable fighters and (as far as I know) treasure chests... so unless I get TONS of them (as in, enough to fill out the rest) from the final Galeem/Dharkon battles, do I just have to wait for the shops to restock for the last ones?

"Leftover items still have value!"is there any recomendation for the first galeem fight, I have no idea who would be a good fit, I tried using my mains of kirby/dedede/captain falcon/bowser, but none of those are working well. also any recommended spirits
You can buy them from shops, but the more likely way you're gonna fill out the rest of your Skill Tree is in New Game +.
Skill Orbs aren't a static resource, you receive more or less of them per battle depending on how strong your spirit team is in relation to the enemy.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I wanted to ask: what happens with Skill Orbs when your Skill Tree is maxed out? I'm currently on my New Game+ playthrough, and I only have two more skills to unlock to get all of them. Many games that give you some kind of level up currency transform them into a different form of currency once you're max level, does this game do that?
Well... even if I knew that I kinda just used the strongest team I had at the moment for every fight even if the enemy was much weaker (partially because I'm too lazy to change that for every fight - even with saved teams - unless it's to prevent floor effects and such) and now I unlocked (almost?) everything so feels like it might be a bit late x3
Still, yeah, there's New Game+ I guess

"Leftover items still have value!"I don't think skill orbs are affected by relative strength, actually. Just Gold, Spirit Points, and Spirit Board items.
Didn't realize you could choose your stage in Mob Smash. That's cool.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Which Mii Fighter costumes were removed?
I'm tempted to say that removed Mii Fighter costumes (like Heihachi, who I'm guessing was removed because I've yet to see the costume or any Tekken-related Spirits) might be a potential hint towards the DLC costumes. They're probably not, and more likely just removed because everyone thought that certain costumes weren't worth the rights issues... but if that isn't the case, why remove a costume otherwise?
This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute. All third-party Mii costumes were removed. They're not implying anything.
This song needs more love. All the third party costumes were removed.
Alright, I said the game didn't seem to get any harder when I switched modes, but apparently the last few fights decided to kick things up a notch...
Short version
Endgame stuff ahead: I mentioned before that I switched to Hard after beating Galeem, and so far that didn't affect too much. Even the Boss battles didn't seem too different, and Dharkon was only tough when I didn't know his patterns.
Now I'm at the very last part of the game. Dharkon EX kicked my ass for about 2 hours before I finally beat him, and it really felt more like a Luck-Based Mission, since he spams more attacks when near-death and certain patterns can cause a chain reaction that can kill no matter what your percentage is (in my case, it was usually a combination of the Suicide Fighters and X-Bombs/Drac's Hellfire). I only beat him because I got lucky with the patterns and narrowly avoided getting bombed to death.
Galeem EX on the other hand is proving to be way tougher than his dark rival. His patterns are somewhat easier than Dharkon's, but he has one particular attack that I can't seem to reliably get past. It's a variation of Tabuu's Off-Waves, and on Hard, he spawns four of them in positions seemingly designed to chain you to the blast zone. For the life of me I can't figure out a way to get through it, and the times I have gotten by it is usually due to the pattern being more forgiving than usual (in which case, I die because he does the "attacks more frequently when near death" thing to, and I get caught by a potent combination of attacks right afterwards).
Currently, I'm trying to beat Galeem with Bayonetta, since I bested Dharkon as Palutena. I'm doing well enough through the main fight, it's just the Waves attack that tends to do me in. My strongest 3-slot Spirit is Midna with Wolf Link, and while Autoheal helps, it does nothing for quick big damage and high launch attacks, and I can't think of any skills that would help either (Weight Up sounds like it'd help, but I only have Primary Spirits with that trait and none of them are leveled).
Mii sizes aren't customizable because they wanted to make them realistically proportioned.
They aren't customizable so they can be used Online.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. It's a decent compromise. I don't think they would have been usable online if they kept customization.
Spirits, in a sense, are a replacement for that idea.
Edit: Oh, cosmetic customization. But uh, general point still stands I suppose.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo apparently one difference between Simon and Richter is the damage type their Holy Water specials deal (Simon's is fire, Richter's appears to be Aura).
dang it I feel dirty I had to go to normal to beat galeem the first time, but I just wanted to get to the rest of the fighters
Here's something I think would be cool:
Each DLC pack contains 10-20 Spirits native to that series, as well as a special Dungeon added to Adventure Mode themed around that series, and the Dungeon ends with a place to unlock that fighter for Adventure Mode. Like, Joker would come with a bunch of Persona Spirits, as well as a special Dungeon added to Adventure Mode based on Persona 5.
The Dungeons and Spirits really made the third-party characters feel like they belonged in Smash, like they were really part of its world (with the exception of Cloud), so I think expanding Adventure Mode for each DLC fighter would be a great way to incorporate them into the universe and make them feel welcomed to Smash Brothers.
I will genuinely be shocked if over the course of Smash Ultimate's life something involving monetization with the spirits isn't put into place.
That something including a mobile or free to play Smash Ultimate where the spirits and fighters are involved in a gacha somehow.
The gacha model is popular beyond the monetization methods for a reason.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Man, I am loving K Rool. Here's a character where I halfway know what I'm doing. And it sure helps that his goofy-ass animations and big crunchy attacks make him just fun to watch and feel really good to do well with. Everything about the gut armor and the cartoony gun make me smile.
I have a message from another time...You know, with two character transformations being bosses, im surprised that they didnt do the same for Ridley or at least his Metal version. He should be renamed "True Ridley"
In general, im surprised we didnt get more bosses. I also think Mother Brain would make a cool boss.
Uni catMy god the size meme died 6 months ago.
I think Isaac generally boosting Energy might be a nod to how the end of Golden Sun 2 reveals that The Wise One arranged things so that a portion of the Golden Sun's power would leak into Isaac. So he has a fragment of the pure energy of that event.
The best I can say about Jenna's effect is that she powers up attacks from the Staff item.
I did like that one of the Venus adepts' battles (I think it was Matthew?) goes all-out with earth effects, having periodic quakes and an abundance of POW blocks.
