My main problem with P5 is, as I said, it doesn't go anywhere near far enough with its social criticism and undermines it at multiple points. Having ANOTHER "gay people are sexual harrasers" joke is bad, having the male characters ogle Ann while trying to address sexual harassment is tasteless (not to mention the Kawakami and Tae romance options), Shido not being a far-right ultra-nationalist is disappointing, and pretty much every villain after Kamoshida is really lame. There's also some miscellaneous stuff that's contrived and badly written, like Ryuji and Mona's little tiff in the latter half of the game, Akechi being a complete and utter miss as a character who gets far more sympathy than he deserves from the characters and the narrative, but whatever, this isn't the Persona thread. I still highly enjoyed the game but its writing is really nothing to write home about in my opinion; it peaks early and it's all downhill from there.
I don't really think P4 is significantly better in retrospect though; the characters might be slightly more enjoyable and its music is definitely better, but P5 is much more fun to actually play.

No joke, Hatsune Miku would be a 10/10 pick.
My unrealistic hope for Ultimate DLC is always going to be Shadow the Hedgehog
As for realistic hope? Probably... Either Crash or Spyro, to be honest.
And for WTF character, Monita from Ninendo Land. Yep.
Joker is the second youngest character in Smash by a small margin, beaten only by Incineroar.
So I don't necessarily mind going the shameless ad route for DLC characters (so long as there's something to actually advertise), but I'd still hope the newbies wait more than a week from their debut on a Nintendo platform to get in. Jibanyan is waiting anxiously for his invite now.
I love Persona 5 the most out of 3, 4, and 5, but if it helps I agree with everything you said. Everything. Game's got issues.

And this is not the thread to discuss those issues. We have a Persona thread for those types of discussions.
I'm looking forward to seeing Kirby rock that Joker mask.

I'm gonna have to plug in Persona 5... But I need to fall asleep in an hour... And an hour will not even get you past the opening cutscenes in a Persona game I assume...
I'd be fine with any of those, to be honest
Miku's kinda stretching the definition of "game character", and I think Ragna might be more likely than Sol, but otherwise these honestly strike me as more likely than most Microsoft characters
Joker getting in screams Sakurai Bias since I heard he loves Persona 5.
Huh, Joker as DLC... Certainly didn't see that coming. And his inclusion along with Reggie's statement about "characters that you would not anticipate" has some interesting implications for later DLC... I hope we'll get at least one character from a yet-unrepresented first-party series, and as far as "unexpected" go, this might boost Rhythm Heaven's chances...
Otherwise, for other wishes and "hey, why not"... I don't have many specific huge wishes aside from Rhythm Heaven and Waluigi appearing nonetheless but I've made a few jokes about "Kiryu for Smash" just because I at one point suddenly thought of a partial moveset and he'd be fun to play in a fighting game, but at this point he actually doesn't seem COMPLETELY unlikely maybe aside from being yet another Sega rep if Atlus counts as that (Though I also would expect and want more "Nintendo-relevant" characters)
Also, Don-chan because why not

Doomslayer or bust!
Shantae or bust!
Kilik or bust!
The Zenithian or bust!
Hayabusa or bust!
Yukimura Sanada or bust!
Solaire or bust!
Dante or bust!
Daidouji or bust!
Zizou Olympia or bust!
I would imagine Nightmare would come before Kilik from Soul Caliber.
I mean I'd prefer Talim or Ivy but clearly if that's the only objection you have to that list I'm still doing something right.
Marina and her Villain Defense Squad arugment.
AKA Villains did nothing wrong; they want to fight the establishment and topple status quo; they are branded "villains" simply because they wanted to change the world...
From not destroyed to destroyed
My top six in no particular order are Katalina, Elma, Sakura or Gemini, Edea Lee, Estelle Bright, and Saber.
I'm fully aware the unlikelihood of most of them but any one of them would make my year.
Honestly we already have characters I would have expected less than some of those so you never know.
Smash MUGEN now.
What a steal!◊
I am not adverse to Saber in Smash, but Shiki in Smash would be a million times better.
My only issue with Shiki is that she isn't a video game character.
The one thing I wanted for the Mii Fighters was more height and body type variation. Make the smallest Mii Fighter the size of Pikachu and the largest Mii Fighter the size of Ganondorf. Instead, they remove all height and body type variability altogether.
0/10, worst game ever.
Shiki? The one from Melty Blood the one from Samurai Shodown or the one from The World Ends with You?
Because like. All three would be awesome.

I was thinking of Shiki Ryougi from Kara no Kyoukai but I totally forgot that Tsukihime/Melty Blood also had a Shiki. Though in his case, I'd rather have Arcueid.
Edited by LordVatek on Dec 7th 2018 at 3:52:14 PM
Ryougi was also in Melty Blood.
I'm wondering what a Shiki Shiki Shiki combo triangle attack would look like.
It would involve a lot of knives, I'll say that much.
I was gonna ask who the most ANIME~ character they've added so far is but just realize Joker does steal that prize right off the bat.
To be honest, part of me wants Jokerís Palutenaís Guidance to be hijacked by the Announcer. I just find that idea funny for some reason. X3
It's more likely to be hijacked by Futaba. And then they comment how an Inkling hijacked the conversation.
