Why did they call it "Mushroomy Kingdom" instead of Mushroom Kingdom? That's such an awkward name. In Japan, it's called "Ancient Kingdom," which sounds hella better.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Mushroomy Kingdom 1-1 and 1-2 have different layouts from each other since they were both based off of the Super Mario Bros levels of the same labels.
Back onto the bit about new Donkey Kong stages, I have toyed around with the idea of a Hornet Hole stage, with sticky honey and Zingers as stage hazards.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Actually the Japanese name is "Ancient-ish Kingdom" while the previous Mushroom Kingdom stages were just "Ancient Kingdom" so they're playing on the same idea.

This song needs more love.New Super Mario Brothers Wee Hee!
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Hornet Hole would kick ass, but if y'all want the most iconic setting from DKC2, there's no better choice than Bramble Scramble.
The DK stages I want most are Gangplank Galleon and Homecoming Hijinxs. Something from DKC3 would be nice too, especially since the game hasn't been referenced at all in Smash. Kastle Kaos, maybe? Lightning Lookout, featuring nice lighting bolt hazards?

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?On that list of potential costumes, no Famicom disguise for Captain Falcon◊? Disappoint.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Hey Chris, all the Nintendo franchises have better non-Wikia wikis.
Ukrainian Red CrossI too would love to see Homecoming Hijinxs.
Also I would like to take back my previous sentiment about Uraya being the stage to represent Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to suggest a better idea; Mor Ardain! The idea is that the entire Titan would be a travel stage, and would be the largest travel stage in the game, and maybe even the largest stage in Smash history in general. So large, in fact, that it's doubtful you would be able to fully loop through the entire stage in even a 5-minute match. Because of this, the gimmick of this stage would be that the starting point for the stage is always randomized, so no match will likely be the same twice. In terms of music, of course it would have its regular theme, but I think that if we don't get a Xenoblade Chronicles X stage, that this would be the perfect place to have both Black Tar and Uncontrollable. Also, Mechanical Rhythm would fit this stage better than Gaur Plains.
So what do guys think about my Mor Ardain idea?
EDIT: I thought up more music for Mor Ardain; In terms of transferred music, it would get Norfair's Battle Scene/Final Boss (Golden Sun), Coliseum's Attack (Soma Bringer), and Pilotwings's ST01 Roll Out, Wonderful 100! . It would also get Palutena's Temple's Weyard and Gamer's Dragon Battle, but hey both songs would be replaced by new remixes. Other songs featured would include Mor Ardain (Night), Battle!!, Incoming!, a remixed medley of the last two songs, a remix of Death Match With Torna, Cauldros Medley (A remixed medley of both the Day and Night themes of Cauldros), a remix of Vitrolic a Stroke from Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, a remix of the Credits Theme of BS Detective Club: Lost Memories in the Snow, A Planet's Worth/Will-O-Wisp Academy (A remixed medley of both songs from Magical Starsign), a remix of Pirate Hideout from Magical Starsign, and this song from Zangeki no Reginleiv. Uncontrollable, Weyard, Dragon Battle, Battle!!/Incoming!, Death Match With Torna, Vitrolic a Stroke, BS Detective Club Credits Theme, and Pirate Hideout would all be unlockable music. Also, Gaur Plains would get Riki the Legendary Hero and the Day and Night themes for Gormott.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Wikirby made me laugh.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.
That gaudy outfit was a reference to the Famicom? I had no idea
I hope people aren't still hoping for leaks.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.On the other hand, we still really need new info this month.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Ah, well, it is closer to December...
I think there probably are genuinely a few less newcomers this time, so while I expect some more showcasing of Smash, etc. it wouldn't surprise me if any newcomers were announced closer to release than usual.
Then again, we're dealing with Sakurai, you don't know how exact his wording of: "Too many newcomers" mean.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. While it's true that Sakurai has joked around or been misleading before, honestly, with every single character returning — including both DLC characters and ones not seen since Melee — I can easily believe the effort to include everyone came at the cost of newcomers. We're sitting on around 65 fighters right nownote . For comparison, base Smash 4 had 51 fighters in all, 34 of which were veterans.
We have a shift in focus from 'Let's see who'll get in this time' to 'This is the ultimate Smash so far; everyone from the past is here!' Which is fine, but while the Smash roster has increased from game to game, we've already surpassed the base 4 count by a fair bit. Obviously there's no hard limit, but even returning characters take time to make and balance. Now, we could have a few more just because it doesn't look like they've decided whether to factor in DLC yet, but still. While I'm not necessarily saying there won't be a few more newcomers to come, it probably would be best to temper expectations.

It's pretty telling that Sakurai seems far more excited about bringing back the seven old characters than creating new ones.

This song needs more love.So would anyone be. Especially if there was more.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I got Pokemon Trainer and Wolf back, as well as Ridley. I am completely 100% satisfied with this roster, even if there were no more newcomers.

Honestly, I may be completely off-base, but my guess for how they'll handle new info for Smash is that instead of having a big Direct or something related to it (since they revealed so much at E3), they'll just have smaller character reveals as The Stinger at the end of Directs leading up to December, probably for any newcomers related to what was talked about in the Direct. x3
Other than announcing a few more modes & characters I really don't know what else they can do.
How do you generate any more hype than "announcing everyone returning". I don't think it's even possible that an 3rd party can beat that kind of hype.

So hey, ridiculous thought? If they're bringing back all the old characters and most of the old stages, why not all the old modes too? So we get, like the Stadium mini games from 64 and Melee like Board the Platforms and Race to the Finish, the Melee-style Adventure Mode, Master and Crazy Orders, Smash Run, etc..
I mean, why not? 8-player is somehow back so can we go a bit the extra mile to get all the modes back? Or at least have a 4-player boss battle? Please Sakurai?

Stage skins would be neat. A Dedede Arena skin for the Boxing Arena, a Moonside skin for Fourside, a
non-hideousretro-SMB-style skin for Mushroomy Kingdom...
