The old topic got wiped so here's a new one.

ROM 3, a Melee tournament, ended recently. Check out the vids at TheWaffle77's channel. Peepee vs. Mew2King's intense but you can find some good matches further down the bracket—I was really impressed by RockCrock's Ganondorf versus HMW's Doc.

I don't think they'll get that wild with 3rd party characters.

Ray Mark III Is direct property of Nintendo, Almost all the Megaman Games and Bomberman games were on Nintendo consoles, this is hardly a stretch.

IMO, content > gameplay moves I never used.

I'm hoping for a bit more of a crossover for the story mode next time.

And, if Sonic and Snake are returning, I want Eggman and a Metal Gear as bosses. Or, even better, Eggman driving a Metal Gear.

I have to admit, Melee seems to be the better tournament game, and it is rather fun to watch the pros play it.

However, I like Brawl better just because of the content.

When Brawl tournaments were going on where I live, after a while, people started bringing Melee, which was the first time I'd seen live pros. I thought out loud "Is this and Brawl in the same series?"

<shrug> The main thing I see as being a competitiveness drawback to Brawl is (damn!) tripping. Everything else is just... different.

Why do these topics always come down to Melee vs. Brawl?

Here a mortal plays against Isai in that other game.

^^ The nature of fighting game communities is to debate over which particular game in the series is better than the rest, the less opinionated term for it being "tournament inclined" or something along those lines.

I'll ask again. Why hasn't Mega Man made it into a Smash Brothers game yet? I'm pretty sure the only 100% official requirement for inclusion is "has appeared on a Nintendo console." And the Blue Bomber sure has done that!

In the next Smash Bros game, I'd rather have some more Nintendo characters like Little Mac, Black Shadow, and Balloon Fighter over third party characters.

The game is a celebration of Nintendo history, after all. (Also, the Elite Beat Agents should REALLY be Assist Trophies. I don't know how, but the characters themselves are perfect for it.)

If it's a celebration of Nintendo history some third party characters are apt. Simon Belmont, Mega Man, and Garland (to name a few) all matter more than Balloon Fighter to Nintendo history.
