In HOI 4 modding news, it has been confirmed by family that Kaisver 1871, creator of Fatherland 1964 and Red World, was killed last October in a car accident.
Rest in peace.
Aw :( That sucks.
So, how are the Federations now in Stellaris? Are they actually worth joining?
Well, I can tell you that trade leagues can be overpowered if you know how to play them. Go Megacorp and devote a couple larger worlds to trade, and you won't need artisans doing your consumer goods once you form a league. I've got way over a thousand trade and I'm running two relic worlds full of scientists off the consumer goods I'm making. On top of the massive energy and unity income I've been making off that Trade League policy.
Federations stronk, federation fleet super stronk :O
This week's Dev Diary for CK 3 is out.
It is about religion and it is big. By far the largest departure from CK 2 yet. Very interesting, and its modularity allow for massive variance for all the different Faiths o the time.
I'm glad they're sticking all of the biggest things from CK 2's DLC packs into the default game.
Well, the biggest things that worked. Still no Nomads or Merchant Republics.
But, yeah, I am very glad they are making sure the game doesn't feel barebones when compared to CK 2. Makes the decision to cut some things easier to swallow.
Yeah. I loved merchant republics conceptually, but whoever the hell coded them was a complete moron. I don't think I say that often enough.
I hope that CK 3 will get MRs, nomads, and theocracies into the game at some point.
Myself, I can't wait for the next DD. Because heresy.
I think that one of the devs mentioned that while Merchant Republics won't be in at launch, that might change post-release.
It's a fairly logical choice for a DLC, especially if the new systems make it easier for non-feudal characters to be fun to play.

The next Diary will e about Custom Faiths and Pagan Reformation. Hopefull the one abbout heresies (i.e. Faith Hostility) will be the one after, hopefully.
Oh. I thought custom faiths would be something you can make in game.
And that's heresy.
Nah, I imagine it'll be like the custom reformation that you could do in CK 2.
Custom Faith is indeed something you can make in game. And I guess they would be heresies. But non custom Faiths can be better as well, and the way Faith hostility works will be explained later.
I am pretty sure you can make non pagan Custom Faiths as well, like a new version of Christianity, with different tenets from Catholicism, Orthodox, etc. So it is more encompassing than CK 2.

Playable Theocracy when!
You know one thing I'm particularly excited about in CK 3? How much better some of the mods will get, if they can be transitioned over and actually worked on.
