Tony Schivonne(sp) with a heartfelt RIP to Hulk Hogan.
At this point, he was not a good person, but what he did for wrestling can't be denied is the best way to put it.
Of course, you're still free to deny it. I'm not gonna tell you not to hate him. I'm still deeply disappointed in his racist comments.
I'm actively looking for ways to separate the character from the person, so I can continue to at least enjoy his theme song.
One Strip! One Strip!Guess the best way could explain my feelings is that I'm not sad that he died but rather I'm sad I'm not sad about it. Because I recognize that wrestling wouldn't be wrestling without him today (maybe but that theorycrafting is for a different time) but I can't ignore the racist stuff, politicking and compulsive lying he did. And hawking beer in spite of his dumbass son's DUI.
Burning love! The tribute caught me off guard a bit because I remember TK not wanting Hogan anywhere near AEW years ago.
I guess it’s near impossible to discuss how pro wrestling’s success came to be if we completely redacted Hogan.

Get taxed. Idiot.I guess they let Tony do it as one of the few active people who worked with Hogan, and maybe knew a better side of him
Also, Max Caster has earned the love of the fandom by being an obnoxious idiot who keeps getting beat. Who knew?
And Anthony Bowens is now a heel. Weird.

Hulkamania and later the NWO was just too influential in the growth of the business in the US as we know it.
In a way it's full circle if we consider Bobby Heenan's word where when Gorilla Monsoon died, Heenan wanted to commemorate him live in WCW Nitro which was contested by Tony with his justification being that Monsoon never worked for WCW but Heenan did so anyway.
Meanwhile at AAA, El Hijo Del Vikingo will be defending his AAA Mega Championship at Triplemania XXXIII on August 16 against 3 WWE guys: Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano and Dominik Mysterio.

As much as Creative tried to frame Max as a Dirty Coward, he was more like the Determinator. It helped that he got one heck of a zinger on Takeshita by pointing out his loss to Kenny Omega.
I never did buy Anthony Bowens as a face. He was too much of a blowhard. This is perfect for him.
To everyone's rejoice, WWE is dropping Travis Scott.
He's not taking to wrestling as seriously as he should be. And, say what you like about Logan Paul, who I hate with the passion of a thousand exploding suns, the guy can wrestle. And, if you cared about them, also dropped from 2K25 DLC completely (EL GRANDE AMERICANO!).
The fact that he also busted Cody's eardrum doesn't help his case either.

Burning love!Never thought we'd reach the point where someone else can make Logan Paul look good by contrast... yet here we are.
Self-professed Wild Card who thinks cynicism isn't so bad.Didn't he waste four minutes of time just walking to the ring just so he could subject everyone to FE!N?
Get taxed. Idiot.Yes. Say what you will about Jeff Hardy or Penta doing their entrances at the start of run-ins but at least they run afterwards. Travis Scott took his sweet time strolling down the aisle for his run-in during Wrestlemania 41.
Triple H announced that AAA Triplemania XXXIII will stream live on Youtube on August 16.

Set! Avenge! "Henshin." Black General! Bujin Sword! Ready, Fight!Looks like we're getting a callback to the Brian Pillman vs Kevin Sullivan "I respect you" match: If Karrion Kross beats Sami Zayn at Summerslam, Sami has to say "Karrion Kross was right" but if Sami wins, Karrion has to say "I was wrong."
Mercedes Mone has added 2 more championships to her collection by beating Diana Strong at the Prime Time Wrestling event in Koslov, Poland on July 27 to become the inaugural Prime Time Wrestling Women’s Champion and the first-ever BestYa Wrestling Women’s Champion. Her other titles are the AEW TBS title, the 2025 Owen Hart Cup belt, the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s title, the Queen of Southside belt, the CMLL World Women’s Championship and the European Wrestling Association’s Women’s title which makes her total championship belts to 8. She's 3 more titles away from beating Ultimo Dragon's record of 10 championships at once.
And now, the debut of El Grande Americano Tres.

WWE announced that they'll be doing a supershow this October 17 to 18 in Japan. With Iwatani Mayu now in Marigold, hopefully we get to see her, Kairi and IYO reunite even if it's just for 1 night.
WWE Unreal is also out but have yet to watch a single episode.

El Tres seems like a bit...bruiser? Maybe he has the weight to do stuff like I dunno, bite some fingers? Who knows.
On a completely different note, has anyone seen Pete Dunne lately. He could totally be the original El Grande American. (I have no idea who Tres is; I'm just spitballing here.)

Burning love!
a Royal Rumble match, but it's just 30 El Grande Americanos...would honestly be really funny. I'd watch it.
Damn! The Bucks not only got the jobber entrance, but also a placeholder lower third.
Get taxed. Idiot.Yeah. It's hilarious.
I don't think that's ever happened before to wrestlers who aren't local talent.
It's certainly a good way to show How the Mighty Have Fallen.
One Strip! One Strip!I’m surprised Mox vs Hangman isn’t the main event.

Get taxed. Idiot. So, I just found out that Alexa Bliss and Bianca Belair did a full on beat for beat re-enactment of a scene from Scary Movie 3.
I don't know when they did this. Was it Raw? Smackdown? A Payperview?
All I know is that it's damned hilarious.
Props, ladies, Props.
One Strip! One Strip!

The usual 10 Bell Salute plus a memorial video for Hulk Hogan narrated by Triple H. Then it opens with "sigh" Randy Orton & Jelly Roll and Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul cutting promos against each other.
On a sidenote, there's still no WWE Raw nor PLEs in Netflix Philippines but WWE Unreal will be showing here this Tuesday.
https://wrestlingheadlines.com/wwe-late-night-event-with-tony-hinchcliffe-planned-for-summerslam-weekend-reportedly-canceled-due-to-low-ticket-sales/
For some positive news, the WWE Late Night Comedy Event starring bigoted comedian Tony Hinchcliffe and set for Summerslam weekend has apparently been cancelled due to low ticket sales. He's 1 of the few celebrities along with Dana White who get universally booed when mentioned among the audiences in WWE events.
So far at least Cody does say that feelings regarding Hulk Hogan are complicated but he focused more on Hogan's accomplishments in the ring and in entertainment when he gave a brief thank you then quickly moved on to cutting a promo on John Cena.
While Roman Reigns & Main Event Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed will main event Night 1 of Summerslam and Cody Rhodes vs John Cena will main event Night 2, pitting almost the entire Smackdown Tag Team Division against each other in TLC for the WWE Tag Team Championship might become the match to watch for the PLE.
