Sarath looked at Alexander, tilted his head for a moment and laughed. Then cast a fire spell on one of the corpses reducing it to ashes. Before promptly shifting his attention back to Alexander,
"You may worship a dead god, but must you be so morbid? Tonight we celebrate! A victory hard fought and well earned!"
He stood by the gate before the crowd, liquor still in hand and spoke up,
"Each of you has come on this journey for your own reasons! Some of you, as myself, seek your own dreams and the power to fulfill them, others to aid their fellows and some still do not yet understand why they follow in this journey! Fellows, I say your answers and resolutions lies before you yet! Should you be steadfast enough to achieve them! But tonight, let us dance and laugh as dreamers still for it would be a great pity if we forgot ourselves to strife! Tomorrow, we continue to seek new horizons. TONIGHT, WE CELEBRATE!"

"Indeed they did. Cleaning will forever be a much simpler task thanks to you Lydia. I'm sure you're brother must be proud to have such a great little sister" Selene mentioned looking a little bit tenderly at Lydia. Looks like I have a weak spot for sisters...
It was then when she heard a certain mage raising his voice "Looks like we'll be celebrating our victory"
This way it will be easier to sneak off...
"Hey, it's no big deal. I bet any girl in my position would've done the same thing," Lydia replied, smiling. She'd been flying from place to place for some time before getting involved in this mess, but Selene had to be one of the first she felt she had a real bond with. "And who knows? Maybe next time, I'll be the one with a problem, and you'll be the one to bail me out and tell me stories. I just hope my problem won't involve so much blood!"
Lydia then took notice of their leader's victory speech. "You know, he might act a little too...passionately...for my tastes, but I guess I'll get used to it after a while."
Alexander clapped for Sarath's speech enthusiastically. "Excellent speech, master!" he said. After Sarath's speech ended, he knelt down near the area with the largest concentration of bodies to pray. "To whomever it concerns, be you a deity or spirits who are able to here my prayers, please have mercy on the souls on these misguided men."
Alan checked out his freshly healed leg. It was a bit stiff yet, but it would pass. No time to worry about that...he had more important stuff to do. He limped briskly over to Selene and Lydia, pretty much ignoring the crazy Mage's speech.
"Selene! Are you all right? I am very sorry for not taking that Archer down in time...he came in from a blind spot..."

Seeing that Selene, Alan, and Lydia were all busy, Rein approached Harold. "So, what do you think about this situation?"
It's a plot! ...Quite a well written one too.Harold ran over to Selene and Alan. "It's my fault as well. I should have kept an eye on you two. If I stayed there then there wouldn't have been a blind spot for the archer to use!" Harold shook his head. "This is the second time I let someone down who needed me."

Sarath laughed upon seeing a second of his comrades fall asleep and signaled Alexander to help him throw them on to whatever the bandits were sleeping on. After hapardly lobbing them into their beds for the night, he emerged again and sat by the door.
He yawned and smiled as he watched the party socializing. Things were going to get a lot more interesting.
"Well, to each their own, I guess," Lydia replied to Selene's comment.
Noticing the approaching guys, both of which were probably concerned about Selene, Lydia decided to take her leave and explore the former bandit stronghold. She wasn't certain what Sarath's policy was on booze, but if she managed to find some, there was no way the mage would prevent her from drinking her way to a hangover...unless he lit it on fire. That'd stop anyone, really.
As she flapped towards the base, she noticed the party's thief standing on his own. He was looking at Harold; poor guy probably rejected in favour of Lydia's new BFF. Since he seemed like a nice guy, and since he'd been a bit of a help back in their first battle, she asked him for help. "Hey, Rein, is it? Wanna help me find the bandit's liquor supply and try to drink me under the table? ...Assuming that last part means that we'll both get hammered, that is."
Woah. So much for thinking Sarath was a bad leader; any man that can find the alcohol supply that quickly was okay in her books. Wine...not exactly the hangover-causing beverage she was thinking of, but considering that they were fighters that might get into battle at a moment's notice, wanting to vomit into treetrunks was probably a future best avoided.
She thanked Sarath, and then poured herself a glass. "To a great future! To a past we shouldn't forget! And to us in the present, becasue we can kick arse like nobody's business!" Lydia toasted. She downed the contents of the glass in one gulp, then had a refill. The raven decided that two drinks would do swell until the others had their fair share.
Alan didn't even look at Harold.
"Nonetheless, I promised you I would protect you. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me, Selene?"

Then she turned once again at Alan, smiling gently as she usually did "Consider yourself forgiven brave archer. In the battle field we will all find ourselves hurt at any moment... still that's unevitable in our line of work. In those moments the only solace we find is the knowledge that we have companions figthing alongside us that will surely come to our rescue" Then Selene lowered her eyes a little as she added "Fighting alone... that is surely the most scary and lonely situation one can be in"
She then perked up again as she stared at the repentant archer "I know that when the times comes again you'll be by my side, right Alan?"
Alan's remorseful expression immediately turns into a smiling one.
"I will forever be by your side, Selene, at your beck and call. You may count on it! Ah, you must be a poet, to speak such beautiful words..."

Harold turns to Alan "We shouldn't split our group over stupid things like who gets what woman." Harold shakes his head "I know that sounds funny from me. I admit I only joined here to duel Sarath soon." Harold yelled at the top of his lungs. "HEY SARATH! WHEN ARE WE DUELING?"
Sarath got up and smiled, "Patience, Half-Breed."
He got up grabbing his book, and carried his jug of wine with him.
"There is a long journey ahead of us! Many new horizons that we are both destined to cross! Much greater heights we must first climb to! What glory is there in a petty squabble over the ruins of a brigand's camp?"
"Of course," Sarath remarked smiling, "If you lack the will to wait, then perhaps you lack potential as a proper sparring mate. In which case, we may begin."
"WOO! Dinner and a show! Sareth, you sure do know how to throw a party!" Lydia said, ignoring Harold's refusal. The tone of her voice made it evident that two glasses were already making her a bit tipsy. For a bunch of mooks that didn't last an hour, those bandits sure had a refined taste.
Wanting to get a good view of the sparring match between the two heroes, Lydia flew up a nearby tree and perched on a strong limb. "Remember, this is s'posed to be a good, clean match. But if one of you dies by accident, I'm totally calling your stuff! Now, what are we waiting for? Fight, fight, fight!"

"Well, you know how most of us Ravens have a poor reputation of thievery and lying?" Lydia asked, as she helped Selene with her cleaning. "Well, if more people knew my bro, our image would change in a snap. My bro's the kind of guy who'd pick up a wallet dropped from a Beginon tourist, and after finding out that the owner already went back home, would fly all the way there to return the dang thing without even thinking of taking the contents for himself. He'd then fly all the way back home as soon as he could, tell me about interesting things he'd seen from the mainland, and help tuck me into bed and read me a story. If there's ever some unforgivable blight in Kilvas that Sarath wants to deal with, I'll make sure to introduce you to him."
A few moments later, Lydia noticed that the stain was clearing up without any noticable side effects. "Well, what do you know? Looks like those herbs worked faster than I thought they could. Just goes to show that a little knowledge picked up on the streets can do you a world of good sometimes!"
