Alan grit his teeth in shame and frustration. How had he missed seeing that Archer get so close?! Loosing an arrow, he finished off the Bandit Selene had attacked, then moved up to join the Swordmaster and the Mage.

A few of them noticed Spartan and decided to try their luck with him, assuming they wouldn't have a difficult time fighting off an old man. The archers decided to focus their abilities on Alan in hopes that their combined efforts would be enough to kill him, thus making themselves an advantage that the other side didn't have. Most of the bandits were in no hurry to challenge Sarath after seeing him kill so many of their comrades, but one of the braver ones got in close to him and swung his axe. A couple of bandits weighed their options and decided to try to escape and headed for the door of the base. The remaining bandits attacked Rein, Harold, and Nixis, desperate to get them out of their base.
"Hold on, Miss Pegasus Knight!" Alex said. He ran up to Selene and cast a healing spell on her.

Spartan raised an eyebrow at the bandits attacking him, even as he started dodging all their attacks, though the fact that they outnumbered him meant that he was too busy dodging to counter. "Too easy. Honestly, did you really think I got to be this old by going soft?" he scoffed. "Even with this many of you, you'll never beat me if you're this predictable."

DOOD!!!Sarath narrowly dodged the bandit's axe with a wild grin.
"And THUS," He lept back launching a fireball into the bandit's face, followed by a second in quick succession, "fools do leap forth to go under."
However, this time he wiped the sweat from his brow. That was too close. He retreated to the gate on his own turn, hoping to seize the advantage that the defenses there would offer him.
"SELENE!!" Harold dashed over striking any guards in his way. "Selene are you OK?!"
Nixis blocked the bandit's attack, but he could not stop the strike completely, as the blood flowing from his left arm told.
"Guh... careless... BUT!"
He slashed the bandit twice in return for his attack.
"It just means that i've done exactly what i aimed for. Come, bandits, your target is no longer here, so i will entertain you instead! Let the blood i spill today be my repayment! Be it my enemy's or my own!"
He attacked the bandit again.
Paradox - Illogical logical contrast of existence end /beginning Antipode - Red flower, blue flower: contrast of elements, full bloomAs she expected, by the time Lydia reached Alex and Selene, her transformation had run its course. Gazing back at the bloodbath she had left, she was glad to see that the enemies had been given a good scare. If it wasn't for their dark past and foolish pride motivating them to fight on, she'd have expected them to act like cowards and make a break for it. Like Kenton. The dastard.
Lydia mentally scolded herself; it was quite unhealthy to think about a man so much. Focusing again on the battlefield, she couldn't help but notice how well Nixis was fairing. It was amazing how suave and brave he was, especially considering his former employer...
Lydia lightly smacked herself in the forehead. Geez, you'd think he left me at the altair or something...
Alan dodged one arrow, but the next hit him in the thigh. He clenched his teeth and shot down one of the archers with two rapid arrows. Then he started hobbling back from the front lines. Hadn't he spotted a healer earlier?
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Harold shaked if off "Right Spartan. Sorry." Harold ran over and stabbed the archers attacking Spartan. One slice happened to take off an arm.
Selene inmediatly started to feel a lot better now that the healing spell of their cleric washed over her, fixing her wound and filling her with new strenght.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself Selene thanked the young healer "Thank you for your care"
"Yes now I'm fine, the archer's attack just took me by suprise"
Rein was a flurry of counterattacks, striking twice for every swing a bandit took at him. However, he could not evade every attack, and a lucky hit sliced across his side.
"Tch. Times like this I remember why Vulenaries are so useful." As he said this, he grabbed a container of the medicine off of a neiboring Bandit and took quick swig.
It's a plot! ...Quite a well written one too.Through the admirable efforts of the heroes, the remaining bandits were all slain. Alexander noticed Alan approaching him and rushed over to him with his staff. "Here, let me help you." he said as he cast his spell. "Um, excuse me everyone! If I could have your attention for just a moment, I'd like anyone else who was injured to form a single file line in front of me."
Well, it looked like things were already over. This was rather upsetting, for it meant he-who-should-not-be-thought-about had fled to the hills and must have been long gone by now. Oh, well; she doubted he'd be the type to just keel over and perish before they could duel again.
Since she managed to dodge the few attacks that came her way, and since Selene had already been healed, Lydia decided to converse with her. The raven knew that she had nothing to be guilty about, but felt that talking to the other girl would lighten both of their spirits. "So, Selene...that was some battle, huh? I hope you aren't mad at little ol' me for dragging you into this mess. Then again, the image of a scowl on that pristine face of yours would be more silly than scary, and I could sure use a laugh."
Nixis sheathed his sword then sat himself down on the ground.
"Bandits... i hate bandits.... always a pain in the..."
He yawned then.
"Tired.... come to think of it... did i sleep last night? 2 Battles... and no sleep is... a bit much for....meh...."
He fell asleep in the position he was in.
Paradox - Illogical logical contrast of existence end /beginning Antipode - Red flower, blue flower: contrast of elements, full bloomSelene simply smiled a little bit "I'm sorry to dissapoint you in that case Lydia. As you can see I'm not mad at all about it. My wound was caused by nothing more than the whims of fate. And see it's already all better"
A slight frown then appeared on Selene's face "Still it's going to be a pain to get the bloodstains off my clothes"
"What? You're worried about a little stain?" Lydia said, taking a better look at the scarlet splotch. "Why, that's nothing! Then again, I've been wearing second-hand clothing since I left Kilvas, so I probably don't sound like the voice of reason you need right now."
Lydia glanced around the nearby area, and noticed a few herbs growing under a nearby tree. She quickly walked over, uprooted them, and returned to give them to the pegasus knight. "Back home, my big brother taught me a lot about things like cooking and cleaning. These herbs look a lot like the kind he used. I think as long as you get it before it's fresh, and you make sure not to apply too much at once, it'll be fine."
Lydia briefly closed her eyes and sighed. "Man, I've enjoyed this place so much, it's been a while since I last thought about home. I bet he's doing well, but I hope big bro's not worrying about me..."
Sarath offers Harold a drink; "Only fools rush toward the edge of a cliff, for now we celebrate."
He turned to Alexander and gave a dramatic gesture to the opening of the now once more abandoned fortress, "The wise taketh what they is given. Welcome to our humble abode. Of course such a place can hope to not contain our ambitions for long, but dreamers do not fear such trivialities, as tonight, We have our abode!"

"I see. I suppose you're correct, and it would be a shame to let this place go to waste." he said as he walked in. "However, I'm a bit concerned over how we're going to remove the bodies. It's going to take quite a bit of work, and very strong constitutions on our part, but we'd be putting ourselves at serious risk for all sorts of terrible diseases if we just let them be."

Spartan, having been standing back to catch his breath after his overenthusiastic battle cry, scowled at the pegasus knight's predicament. "Honestly, if that's what passes for elite these days it's a good thing I'm here to clean up their mess..." he muttered to himself before charging once again to eviscerate another foe.
Note to self: No more screaming challenges at full volume. My lungs can't take it anymore.
