Christmas has boosted my CD collection somewhat. Most of them I'll already have posted here because I had them on Spotify, but that doesn't really count so:

  • And So I Watch You From Afar - And So I Watch You From Afar
  • Andrew Bird - Noble Beast
  • Blonde Redhead - 23
  • Leonard Bernstein - Chichester Psalms
  • The Mountain Goats - The Life Of The World To Come
  • My Latest Novel - Deaths And Entrances
  • St. Vincent - Actor
  • Woodpigeon - Treasury Library Canada

And I still have £18 left on a gift card for my local indie record store. Epic Christmas CD haul!

Well, if you count game DLC, I got "Ghost Ship", "Deep Blue Quay", "The End is Nigh", and "The Tale of Sack Sparrow" from LittleBigPirates of the Caribbean Level Pack. "Deep Blue Quay" is great for lazy swimming areas (as shown by the first level of the pack, Port Royal), and I'm going to use either "The Tale of Sack Sparrow" or "Islands IntMusic" as the track for my water-based Survival Challenge...

Other than that, I didn't really get any new tunes lately.

Downloaded free and legally, from the band's site. Good stuff.

From my last Amazon MP3 downloading spree (that's right, I've begun acquiring music through actually legal means!):

  • Shonen Knife: Genki Shock!
  • Miyavi: Miyavizm
  • Warren Zevon: Excitable Boy

For some reason, my album-buying seems to fall into a pattern where I buy three albums, the first two of which set up a theme (in this case, Japanese music) and the third of which demolishes it. Last time, it was Scissor Sisters-Lady Gaga-Daft Punk. waii

I finally got my hands on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Complete Recordings. It's as good a release as the earlier C Rs with lots of material that didn't end up in even the Extended Edition of the film.
