Michael Bay jokes are getting old. When he has done them himself, more than once, it is about time to find another director to mock.

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? This
may be the first xkcd where I understand the subject as thoroughly as anyone can, but fail to see an actual joke. Except, of course, in the Alt Text.
Maybe the problem is that I understand the subject matter too well. I guess there's a certain ridiculousness these days to the idea that two people can take to the blogosphere and get one of them nominated for Ruler of the World as a result.
To be fair to Orson Scott Card, the book was written well before the current blogging craze. And Peter and Valentine were really, really smart — the only reason they weren't taken in Ender's place was their personalities.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Well, Valentine ended up writing for an actual dead-paper newspaper because she was recognized as a good writer, and they both used applied meme theory to make sure they gained influence.
Oh, <deity>! I just noticed the squirrel!

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Wow, FiveThirtyEight is still around in whatever far-future year Enders Game is set in.
And yeah, the squirrel... Not-really-spoiler for either Ender's Game or one of the Shadow books
SHIKI is dead.As I recall he first pinned their legs to the ground, skinned them alive, and then left them to rot in the sun. I don't think he actually he killed them.
