(Mod edit to add a courtesy link to El Goonish Shive.)
Yay! Its back again! I stagger my reading of it to Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday cause there aren't enough good webcomics on those days, so I am not the best person to lead a real time discussion, but it really needs a thread. So in Monday's we see the mysterious return of the dark figure. (linky)
Who is starting to sound really, really desperate.
Also, is it just the art upgrade, or does Ellen's green ray seem more... jeeze, what is a same word to use? Powerful? More powerful then usual?

That is fine too, of course. I don't think anyone here is hardcore shipping the two after all. It was just an idle possibility that was brought up because the current page made it vaguely possible. Of course, a single page would be too early to call anything even if Larry wasn't acting creepy just a couple of weeks ago.
If they don't hook up, okay, that makes perfectly sense. If they do, however, it could be amusing and even heartwarming, but ultimately depends on how Shive handles it. Regardless, it is too soon to say.
Given that Ashley never treated Elliot as someone "lesser," while Larry did treat Sarah that way (even if he didn't realize it until it was pointed out), I'm going to say that there is a huge degree of difference between the two possible pairings.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. As much I like Larry having an actual, non-asshole conversation with a woman, I do hope the strip doesn't gloss over the fact that Sarah really was being presumptuous - though her reaction to his hitting on her was spot on, everything else like her assuming he was going to let her win wasn't, even if he actually was planning to.
I just assumed she talked to Tedd in between rounds and knew all about his tricks before they actually talked, but still.
eh. Lots of time people read off on gut feelings because they are good at reading social cues. Granted, Sarah's social skills probably come from reading the script, but hey.

"You like hitting on girls when they don't wanna be hit on? How about if you get hit on by girls and you don't wanna be hit on." "I'm a guy - why would I ever not wanna be hit on by girls?"
That is a double-standard.

My apologizes, I thought you were saying Sarah was the one employing double-standard.
That said, I still don't agree. Larry is not using double standard, not in that particular point. He don't see himself ever not wanting to be hit on, so he assumes girls are the same. No double standard at all, at last for now.
Yeah, there's a fair few things wrong with Larry's reasoning here but oddly enough sexism isn't really one of them. He's assuming that women and men react in the exact same way to a particular stimulus.
He's like "would I be ok with someone acting the way I am towards me?"
"Yes"
"ok, lets go for it". ![]()

Oh who cares, that plot was so long ago that I have completely forgotten that it was even a thing. Everything is so far apart that when he brings up something from the past it comes as a surprise.
