Sheesh. I leave to take a shower and Noimporta schizes on me.

AOD: I thought that was what Furiko was alluding to with the Unfortunate Implications pothole? Or was there another joke there I missed?

Nope, that's what I was talking about. My mom always made me fast-forward through that part of the tape because she didn't want me to get brainwashed into thinking that it was totally cool that one set of my ancestors tried to kill all the friends and family of another set of my ancestors (isn't being a Charlie Dog fun?).

Hey, EI, remember at the end where they plug the Space Program? I think that's my favourite part.

I would have thought that, by the mid-seventies, they would have known that space colonization wasn't as easy as they thought back in the fifties.

In 1975 I would have thought anyone overly-pessimistic who was claiming that there would only be four or five people living and working in space in 34 years.

In an environmental science class I took at the beginning of this year there was someone who continually made the argument that it doesn't matter what we do to this planet because we're so close to colonizing other planets. I didn't know how to respond to that besides "you're being way to optimistic about technological progression."

Yeah. Bogus argument, now. Sadly, today I'd be surprised if someone was to seriously predict major off world population by 2043.

Two statements apropos of nothing:

I just ordered the second-coolest mass produced laptop ever: The Axiotron Modbook. The coolest would be the Modbook Pro, but the base price on those is more than twice as high, and it doesn't seem to be enough of an improvement to be worth it. Plus they don't ship 'til summer.

Also, I'm training for next year's Midnight Sun Marathon in Anchorage. I'm not in nearly good enough running shape to start with to whip myself into shape for this year's (which is in two months), but next year is doable. So I'm going to do it.

Apple's got a pretty good Xanatos Gambit going on... by making a point of not selling their OS on other computers, they get other people to port it for them for free.

So, on a list made up by my cousins to find out who's the coolest family member (one list for guys, one for girls), it turns out that I initially placed 4th while my sister placed sixth (in our respective lists). However, since the lists were made, I moved from 4th place to 3d coolest male cousin. As of the most recent posting, I am now the second-coolest cousin.

I can feel my star rising! The fact that I went from Clovis to Schneizel status just made the list all the more funny.

Little Serge: I wonder how a list like that would look for my extended family, as there are... 12 of us total. Woah, that few? I really ought to start procreating.

In other news, I've finally noticed that all the working out has paid off. I've got noticeable muscle now! o/ (< that is not a hooray icon, that is me flexing my massive bicep.) Unfortunately I seem to not own a belt. Those things are expensive. Maybe I'll just enjoy the loose pants for a while...
