Classic series, new series, Whoniverse, expanded universe... 'tis all welcome here.

Please be considerate and tag spoilers wherever possible.
  • Tag all spoilers for the latest episode, for any previews or content leaks, and for all off-topic works (e.g. if comparing a Doctor Who story to a Star Trek one)
  • Spoilers for a season finale (or for any standalone special or expanded universe story) should remain tagged for at least a month after it's released.

When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which show and episode will they spoil?).

I really wanted to see him bounce off Matt Smith.

Did the Dalek Emperor first appear in the comics or in the tv show? I know Evil of the Daleks was the first tv appearance of the emperor, but I would have guessed that the comics would have come up with the concept first. I don't know for sure though.

I enjoyed John Simm's Master the first time I watched him, but I changed my mind the second time I watched it and disliked his reappearance from the off. I've hears rumours before that Simm wasn't too happy with the way he was asked to play the character.

According to The Writer's Tale, ' RTD had apparently planned for a Dalek Parliament to have allied with the Time Lords as part of The End of Time.

Seriously, wat? Just how evil was he planning to make the lords and ladies?

I wrote a Doctor Who song! It's a parody of Train's "50 Ways to Say Goodbye, original lyrics here.

My hearts are paralyzed

Boe's Face is oversized

I'll be a Time Lord like I should

You say it's cruel of me

To alter history

You're leaving now for your own good

That's cool but if the Ponds ask where you are I'm gonna say

She was shot by a Dalek

Fried by the Silence

Melted in a random vat full of acid

Help me, help me, I'm the Lord of Time

She met an angel in the water

Blinked and then it caught her

She caused a paradox to save her father

Help me, help me, I travel through time

And I pretend you died

That wasp had a huge sting

Rose was my everything

Some day I'll find her universe (her universe)

I know she's still alive

I'll say Rose Tyler, I...

How could you leave Canary Wharf?

That's cool but if the Ponds ask where you are I'm gonna say

She was caught in a time warp

Deleted by a Cyber

Executed by a plastic Roman soldier

Help me, help me, I'm the Lord of Time

She blew up with the Daleks

Merged with the TARDIS

Got sucked through a timey-wimey wall crack

Help me, help me, I travel through time

And I pretend you died

I wanna live a thousand years with you

I wish that we were flying through time

But you don't want to

That's cool but if the Ponds ask where you are I'm gonna say

That's cool but if the Ponds ask where you are I'm gonna say

She was shot by the Daleks

Cloned by Sontarans

Stuck on a pleasure planet full of Cybers

Help me, help me, I'm the Lord of Time

She met a vampire under water

The Zygons finally caught her

Stuck in a paradox cause by her daughter

Help me, help me, I travel through time

She got caught in a time warp

Murdered by the Master

Got devoured by a creepy purple monster

Help me, help me, I'm the Lord of Time

She blew up when the planet's

Sun went supernova

Got stuck in a timey-wimey vortex

Help me, help me, I travel through time

And I pretend you died

Dalek: Pass... The... Hot... Sauce...

Time Lord: Oh hear ya go. You want a third regeneration to go with that coak?

Dalek: Thank... You... But... Withhold... The.. Coak... Make... It... A... Beer... We.. Shall.. Be... In-tox-icated... So... How's... The... Weather...

Time Lord: Pretty good. A time storm here and there, but most agreeable.

I really need to get and watch the happiness patrol. The whole thing is a direct attack on Moral Guardians and stuff, isn't it?

A Dalek parliament allying with the Time Lords would be pretty rad.

I could especially see that happening with the New Paradigm Daleks (agh Moffat you should have done more with that) and a returned Gallifrey.

[up][up][up]I think many fans who like the Happiness Patrol only like it for the politics/social issues side of the story. If that were removed, maybe they'd see it as the awful, tacky, badly written and acted turkey it really is.

Then again, it does have the Kandyman, so at least there's a good villain in the story.

[up]The Eruditorum would disagree with those descriptions. As would I.

...And that's literally saying that the story would be bad if you removed the story. Um.

And like, how can you possibly accuse bad writing, acting or tackiness of something with this scene in it?

[up]I hate that scene. Mc Coy's acting is good (for him), and I'd like to cheer him on, but in real life he'd be shot dead double quick. I'm sorry, I just can't buy into anything about that scene.

The Doctor steals a go-kart that is very loud and goes about five miles an hour. He could run faster than that. He could WALK faster than that. And the Happiness Patrol take shots at him from ten feet away and manage to miss him. Yeah.

After watching that for the first time, no amount of social commentary could save the story for me.

Why couldn't you watch that? What's wrong with those things happening?

EDIT:

I'd like to cheer him on, but in real life

...It's actually based on some real life facts.

And you grossly misunderstand the relationship Doctor Who should have with real life to begin with.
