Classic series, new series, Whoniverse, expanded universe... 'tis all welcome here.
Please be considerate and tag spoilers wherever possible.
- Tag all spoilers for the latest episode, for any previews or content leaks, and for all off-topic works (e.g. if comparing a Doctor Who story to a Star Trek one)
- Spoilers for a season finale (or for any standalone special or expanded universe story) should remain tagged for at least a month after it's released.
When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which show and episode will they spoil?).

MI-6. M-16 is a machine gun, I believe.
Fresh-eyed movie blogGod, that picture of the Doctor kissing River. He looks like her daughter.
Also, Strax thinks River is a man. He is the best character ever.
Edit: Okay, admittedly there are problems with Doctor Who's portrayal of race. I would not at all say the show is perfect.

It's not over. Not yet.The only time Strax thinks someone is female is when they're male.
Which, in the past season, is admittedly most of them.
I was listening to a conversation with the writers and editors of Queers Dig Time Lords recently and I was very pleased with how much importance they placed on "it's okay to be disappointed in something you love in certain areas, but focus more on why you're still a fan anyway."
Also if I don't read any other essay, I think I want to read "New face, same old me", which is about a transwoman's transition and how when no other explanation for said transition got through to her friend, he understood "It's like I'm the Doctor, but I'm regenerating into a woman".

Fresh-eyed movie blogTARDIS Eruditorum talks about Only Human.
WHY DOES IT TALK?!
WHY WOULD YOU EVEN DO THAT?!
I like the Whispermen. They should totally be digitally inserted into a bunch of Classic Who eps.
...In fact, instead of just Richard E Grant glowering menacingly, it should have been Richard E Grant with a few dozen Whispermen.

Yes, the metaphor for the ugly British imperialist through and through.

The case for the prosecution? Colin Baker, Mc Coy's predecessor forced to wear possibly the most distracting costume ever devised for a leading man
Thank Goddess. The actor himself isn't insane. I was worried about that.
I don't see how morally questionable things are automatically bad. The issue might if they got a bit too insensitive and stereotypical. Which I'll be honest, the show usually stayed away from. Sometimes it plunged headlong into the offensive stereotypes, especially in the 60s, but overall the show has done an okayish job.
Unnoun, I think you posted that already?
But it's not the best around. The Wire was perhaps the best around.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.

Dammit, unoun, now I actually want to see River in a sombrero.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great
