They cast a time stop for the rest of the world while doing the deal with V. I bet they put an industrial-strength stasis field up around V's body. All part and parcel of the customer care package, so totally legit... wink

Doesn't every time stop affect the world, not just a small portion? I don't play dnd, so the the concept of a bubble of "No-time" is a strange and I don't know how to check.

Think of it as an "I get a bunch of free actions" spell. Whether you're going super fast or you've frozen the entire world except for yourself is irrelevant to the game mechanics, although it has certain philosophical implications.

Surely the caster is going really fast, given the sheer scale the alternative would imply.

The spell Time Stop explicitly speeds the caster up, it doesn't actually stop time in an area. The description of its duration even says "1d4+1 rounds (apparent time)". It grants the caster extra rounds of preparation, which makes it the best spell ever because the action economy is king.

The whole deal with the IFC is explicitly a plot thing though.

Edit: I think the 3.0 version stopped time for everyone in an area (around 300 ft.) except for yourself. That version actually allowed you to attack people while it was stopped, so it was even more broken. Between that and 3.0 Haste it was a total Game-Breaker.

Edit2: Time Stop, 3.5 version:

This spell seems to make time cease to flow for everyone but you. In fact, you speed up so greatly that all other creatures seem frozen, though they are actually still moving at their normal speeds. You are free to act for 1d4+1 rounds of apparent time

Huh, Tarquin and the others made it out surprisingly fast. That looks like the same room they were in.

Belkar is probably going to die soon.

It's a scary day where Belkar has an actual plan (has he ever done that before?) and Roy makes the effort to listen.

Makes his impending death even sadder really. Especially since we know Rich isn't going to go back on it. He's finally become something more than a selfish bloodthirsty killing machine.

Now he's a selfish bloodthirsty killing machine who cares.

I know this might be off topic but why some fans ship Redcloak with Miko or Vaaruvius?

While that statement about shippers is true, if you got those ships from the GITP forum, keep in mind that a lot of those ships were intentionally made to be as much of a Crack Pairing as possible, as part of a game that started on those forums years ago.

That said, V and Redcloak can be birds of a feather in certain ways...

Redcloak, Miko, and Vaaarsuvius are all characters with a tendency to stick to their guns even especially when it is clearly the wrong thing to do.

I am going to take a shot in the dark here and assume I was the only one who liked that movie.

Also, I am really confused to the lay out of this pyramid. If my count is correct, then they almost ran up a stair case that would take them above the pyramid.

Also, placing a 1,000,000:1 bet on it all being another illusion, activated by the trap that Nale stepped on.
