[up]I don't think that was ever said.

Also for rules unless it says it can only be heard by the target everyone can hear it.

You look happy, I can change that if you want.

I thought Sendings went to one specific person but anybody near them and paying attention can also hear it, as was the case with Nale's ransom note things. Thus, there's a good chance one of the Linear Guild will succeed with a listen check.

So I'm a writer...

Does anybody recognise the person Sending? She's probably Azurite going from the robes. What could she be saying?

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Wow. I was surprised Malack and Nale have yet to go at each others' throats in this strip. The tension is so high.

I'm surprised that trap was so nonlethal. It didn't even repel him, apparently, since he's on the inside.

What was that trap? After the runes it seems to be pretty weak unless that's because it hasn't been recast in a while.

@Saya: Definitely mentioned at some point within the comic itself. I can't remember who it was, but someone went something along the lines of "Oooh, I'm getting a Sending!" and was replied with "Only you can see that".

EDIT: Wait, I think I've got it. I think it was Start of Darkness, so not in the main comic. But certainly canon. When Xykon got Dorukon's Sending, and Redcloak pointed out that only Xykon could see that.

Quite liked the little touch that Malack didn't tell Nale about the trap until he triggered it, and Nale managed to figure that out at least.

@Eudichlorius: Roy noted that he got hungry though.

I still think Malack might use Durkon's last wishes as a justification for standing back and allowing Nale to die if a fight breaks out.

[up][up]Can you direct the sending to a group? For example if they sent it to the Order instead of just Roy would they all be able to see it?

Well, how will this work out.

Rule of Funny and The laws of Drama demand that the sending is heard by the Linear Guild.

On the other hand, with the news they are about to receive right now, Xykon arriving is poor enough luck as it is. The group needs a break right now.

I can't tell what will happen here.

Eep.

Seconding the prediction that that trap is going to have some further effect. (In fact, who's to say it isn't a very subtle Hate Plague? Their bickering markedly went up a notch after it was tripped, although there's a perfectly logical reason for that.)

Malack would want to kill Nale himself. He's already said that what you want dead you should kill yourself.

I'm not sure Nale under the influence of a Hate Plague would be noticeably different from Nale normally.

[up] Yes, as his argument against sparing Belkar in their fight previously, but that doesn't mean that if he sees the Order about to strike down Nale, he's going to pull The Only One Allowed to Defeat You and kill them so that only HE can have the honor of finishing off Nale.

He's not going to be manipulative about trying to undo Nale, but he might still seize an opportunity if one arises on its own. He seems pragmatic like that.

Nale becoming a vampire under Malack's domination would be a sort of ultimate irony. Given how Malack feels about his "children", though, it seems like the antithesis of what he'd want.

Provided this isn't technical enough to qualify as rules discussion: is Redcloak high enough level to have a reasonable chance of casting Control Undead on Malack (or Durkula) and having it work?

And no one commented on Roy now knowing that Belkar was being completely honest about Durkon getting vamped. For shame. tongue

As for Redcloak controlling the twin fanged terrors, probably not. (Irony points if he can do it on Malack but Durkon is just beyond his reach.)

^^ I vaguely remember that you need something like twice the hit dice (level) of the greater undead you're trying to control, so no. Malack is about eleventh level and Redcloak isn't epic. Of course, I could just be remembering that you can control vampire spawn with hit dice up to twice your own in total.
