This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread
for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

Even if MitD doesn't end up tipping his hand doing this, he's still asking for Xykon's annoyance.
My musician pageIndeed. Xykon may decide that keeping the Mitd around to eat Redcloak if the latter betrays him isn't worth the current annoyance.
One Strip! One Strip! This one got me. When the Quinton started talking about Xykon's brain being too old, I thought we were about to see some discussion on the inflexibility of lich minds as a drawback for living so long. But Redcloak was quicker on the uptake.
#1268: No Skill Point.
Wham Episode. A paladin who used to smoke?
Get your bets in now! Whose seemingly useless skill will be what saves the day? I'm going in on Belkar's soap-making.
My musician pageI love how Roy learned to be so Genre Savvy.
Fjón þvæ ég af mér fjanda minna rán og reiði ríkra manna. The meta joke here is great: they're in a D&D-themed story and they are writing out their own character sheets. I totally empathize with Roy's annoyance that one of these random elements is likely to come back later.
If I had to offer a guess, I'd say that Belkar's soap-making expertise is a reference to Fight Club.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I have my doubts about that. Rather, this seems to be an attempt to outwit both the Law of Conservation of Detail and Unspoken Plan Guarantee. Roy wants to make sure that there are no hidden details that can come back to bite them and that every possible asset is known in advance.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm reminded of Old Man Henderson and the backstory used to justify the character. Rather than a single sheet it was apparently 320 pages long.
Disgusted, but not surprised![]()

What's particularly funny is that Unspoken Plan Guarantee is still in full effect, as O-Chul went "Let's never speak of every item we have at our disposal ever again".

Look at MitD still trying his best to sabotage.
