I was thinking it might be Serini, but it turns out she's appeared on two pages.

I was going to say Haley's cousin who runs the weaponless weaponshop, but he reappeared for a single panel at the end of Blood Runs.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume he's talking about one of our invisible paladin-nappers from the most recent strip.

I mean, but they're obviously important. I don't see the point in phrasing things the way he did unless he's just trolling for the sake of it, and I don't think that's a thing he's known to do.

How do we know they've only appeared in one strip? They could have been there the whole time.

Wryte Speaking of shop-owners, maybe the elderly Gnomish couple from whom Haley bought the dagger in Tinkertown. They decide not to retire to the tropics, but instead set out to save the world!

Or the potion sellers from Book 2.

I got money on it being Kraagor.

To get everyone's goblin-shaped fan favorite elephant in the room out of the way...exactly how many panels did Right-Eye's daughter appear in again?

Right Eye's daughter and both sons appear on multiple pages, as well as his wife. However, in the same scene, there is a girl whom Right Eye invited to seduce Redcloak, who appears only on one page. Several members of the circus too.

Other ideas: The ninja waitress from Azure City. Any characters from this page. The hunters who captured the MITD.

Of course these are just random once-appearing characters. The hunters may not be that far off though, as the MITD will definitely have a large role in the next book.

I do like the idea of it being Right-Eye's daughter. Since part of the final book will revolve around trying to persuade Redcloak to finally, finally accept that the Dark One's course of action is a mistake, involving the family that very nearly tempted him away from it is a good way of bringing that full circle.

If Redcloak is finally to accept that the Sunk Cost Fallacy was a mistake, Right-Eye deserves some kind of representation in that storyline.

Also, since the Order never met Right-Eye or his family, it would be trivially easy to organically work in a recap on who the character is for audience members that never read Start of Darkness. The "recap" is basically just a character introduction.

While Right Eye's daughter may as well appear, her being that character is right out (sorry). See my previous post.

"Grand total of one page." Are those his exact words? Because if so, there is more than one way to interpret that. Several fragmentary appearances could add up to one whole page.

This speculation all assumes that Rich correctly remembered the number of pages said character appeared in and didn't miss something. I think all characters that appear "on one page but also in this one-off panel in a different page" are fair game.

That's easier than you might think- there's a thread in the GitP forums that tracks the number of appearances of every character, and we know that Rich is aware of that. It's not hard to imagine him check that thread to make sure he wasn't forgetting anything.

I'll admit, a sequence of events that result in the Snarl joining the Order of the Stick would certainly keep my attention.

Why hasn't anyone actually linked that thread yet so we can check which characters actually fit the criteria?

I mean, I guess I could, but I was looking at that earlier and nobody really jumped out me as a likely candidate. Also there are a lot of people who appeared in exactly one page of bonus material.
