I wouldn't mind a love triangle, both for uh, reasons of my own* , and because I like triangles where the main character isn't the central vertex.

As expected, nobody wants a love triangle.

NO! I WILL NEVER LET THIS GO!

The romance in general is pretty dull, so if a love triangle gets mixed into things I'm probably just going to tune out entirely.

OT3 is still a triangle.

Technically yes, but not in the way love triangle is typically used.

Mutual OT3 is the only triangle that's actually a triangle, aside from the old unrequited chain of misery. the rest are more chevrons than anything.

Well, not all of the rest. Like, A likes B who likes C, but things don't go the other way, is also a triangle. As is A likes B and C who like each other. As is A likes B who likes A and C who likes only A. The Triang Relations page has nice diagrams for it.

Isn't Ysen-Annie-Rey a sort of love triangle too?

Anything between Annie and Ysengrin beyond mentor/student or surrogate daughter/father is fanon at this point. Ysengrin loving Coyote very much is explicitly stated in the text.

That meaning anything romantic or sexual is pure fanon too.

If Annie is a Replacement Goldfish daughter substitute in anybody's eyes it's Renard's.

There is nothing stopping Annie from being the Auggie Doggie to her two Doggie Daddies.

Well, he's presumably leading to something less bluntly honest. Even if it's just "And screw those losers."

Go, Rey: nice, fluffy, inaccurate, surface-touching words really wouldn't cut it in this situation.

I think he is being honest enough. We humans can be horribly cruel to what we don't understand or don't like.

Over on the official forum, this post puts it best.

99.7% at most.

Honestly, it is not that humans are bastards. It's that the forcible cultural socialization imposed by societal elites in order to maintain the power structures with them at the top without the appearance of oligarchy, which is oftentimes done unconsciously, leads to members of the oppressed to act in bad ways thanks to the conflict between the values learned by being oppressed and through the passage of knowledge from parent to child among the oppressed and what society tells them to value, which leads to conflict within the oppressed, preventing them from questioning the fundamental power structures of society thus causing many people, even those who should know better, to act like bastards toward many oppressed peoples. None of this is a problem with humans themselves, but with the power structures dominating society and with how society is organized.
