And...uh oh. She could just summon it back, but I imagine she'll really want to keep an eye on him.
If Jack has etheric powers (and the fact that he was pulled into Zim City all those chapters ago suggests that he might), then he may be able to see Annie when she uses the stone to look at her. Of course, communicating via Blinker Stone may be the safest way for Annie and Jack to resolve things.

Hmmm, that sounds quite plausible. Though by the looks of things, maybe he's not really meant to have them/had them before visiting the city. Also to retrieve the stone does Annie have to actually open up to conversation. She found it without appearing to have to.

Also the kid coming out of the tent in the second panel really doesn't look human. Where's his crowd?

Another relevant plot point: blinker stones aren't necessarily attuned to one person as far as I can tell, which makes sense since they're designed as a focus for psychic abilities to learn how to use them without it. So Jack might be able to use it himself.

Also the kid coming out of the tent in the second panel really doesn't look human. Where's his crowd?

I assume that that's just a stylized look like he often gives characters who are some ways away from the "camera".

That's what I meant by "where's his crowd?", that's how Tom draws the anonymous crowds when they appear. He just looks out of place.

Creepy... Did he pick that up in Birminghell, or was it the cause of his trip there?

I'm gonna assume he got it from Zimmyland. Maybe those wierd faceless people look like that because THEY got pulled into the place, and were destroyed by the ethereal spider-on-face disease.

I think I spot Haley to the right of Boxbot. She's awfully small.

Would it undermine Annie's characterisation to wonder why after seeing that something's wrong, she didn't decide to get out of the etherium and ask for the blinker stone in person? Where Jack wouldn't end up in near soul to soul contact with her?
