Other than that I liked the voices, though, as I said. Some of the voices were a little cartoonish, like with that one chick who looked like Kagura from Azumanga Daioh, but I felt it worked with the tone of the series and they were all well-acted.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Ah, yeah, right, Misao, thanks. Also the page for the person who dubbed Misao informs me that she also played Kari from Digimon Adventure, So Yeah.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I enjoyed the show, even though I suspect most the refrences went over my head. Just those little bits of everyday life they focus on, even for three minutes, made me smile.
I particularly recall Tsukasa's battle with awakness, every little thing jolted her out of sleeping. That happens to me too many times, I had to laugh.
Patricia's voice was annoying. I chalked it up to her having a bad accent.

The Philosopher-King ParadoxWell, I liked it. But then again, I like most of what I see, and I watched it dubbed. (And I do agree that Patricia's voice was annoying, but I think I'm used to annoying voices at this point.)
I would like to know exactly why some of you hate it, though.

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.Lucky Star is not for everyone because its humor derives from Slice of Life comedy, Seinfeldian Conversations and references to anime and anime culture. If you don't find the above elements funny, you won't enjoy the show.
Curiously, the first time I tried to watch it, I got about six episodes in and wasn't finding it funny at all. About a year later, I decided to give it a second chance, and found it hilarious. Not sure what changed in the intervening time, but there you go.
I take it someone necro'd the thread to diss the show? What a fucking Attention Whore.
My FF.net accountI love Misao's English voice, too. It has that sound/feel of pressing your tongue against your fromt teeth and I love it.
Hell, with one intensely glaring exception, the English voices of Lucky Star are awesome. Standouts are Kagami, Minoru, and Akira.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.I always loved the voice of Yutaka. Hynden Walch has a talent for voices so incredibly cute that it goes right up to Tastes Like Diabetes and then Crosses the Line Twice.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. It occurs to me that most of the people who hate the show only see the first few episodes or so before giving up.
Know that they switched directors around episode 6, and then on is when the show got much funnier.
"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"

Oh yes. Patricia was an epic fail because of her voice.
Everything is better as a Dunkleosteus.
