Oh, that makes a lot more sense. Probably because they don't have ideas for an ongoing comic series or more graphic novels, and they don't want to cheapen the franchise by pushing out comics made by obligation instead of inspiration. GI Joe is a fundamentally different situation because the franchise was created to be a toy commercial, with a generally episodic structure and a willingness to reboot continuity pretty regularly. Avatar is a lot more driven by its creators and has a stronger continuity, so they don't want to make comics just to make them.
Avatar characters (as skins) in another platform fighter:
As someone pointed out in the comments, there's now a platform fighter that officially features both Cartoon Network and Nintendo Nickelodeon characters (as skins).

The sad, REAL American dichotomy
You mean Nickelodeon, not Nintendo, right?
But yeah that's pretty cool.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWhoops, yeah. I thought that's what I typed, but I guess I wasn't connecting.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyThat might not be new art, but this is! And it's straight from Avatar Studios apparently!
Apparently, these are for official metal posters?
Hell of a glow-up, right guys?
Aang the unreasonably buff (pre)teen.
If it's not already covered in canon material, I'd love a graphic novel or short of Aang, Ty Lee, Suki, Pathik, and the Air Acolytes restoring the Air Temples. Maybe the Mechanist, too! Those characters fit as the Western Air Temple is in the Fire Nation, Kyoshi Island is close to the southern temple, and the Mechanist and Pathik took up residence at the last two.
Even if Ty Lee and Suki don't convert to Air Acolytes, it would be nice to explore their spiritual sides and strengthen their connection to Aang and each other.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyMinecraft also keeps making odd crossovers, from what I'm aware. Last year it was Sonic the Hedgehog. I know they've previously crossed over with Mario.
I wasn't expecting crossovers in the eras, but then I saw Korra and Aang running through Omashu, Team Korra meeting Suki at Kyoshi Island, and Kya and Tenzin talking to Zhao (and not just in the Fog of Lost Souls). That's pretty cool! Iroh, Zuko, and Azula having what seems to be a dance party in a bloody jail cell was weird, though.
And they're really going in with the characters. I wasn't expecting to see Xin Fu!

The sad, REAL American dichotomyWhile I love Iroh and how powerful he is and I know that he could have whooped Ozai singlehandledly I still think its a terrible Idea to have him actually do so. Years upon years of writing, build up establishing Aang as the only one who can beat Ozai and restore peace... only for the writers to go "You know what? Iroh can beat Ozai just fine. KTHNXBAI". And I dont count the comics as worth the trees that were cut to print it or the bytes it occupies digitally, let alone canon.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.- Ummm... did anything prompt this sudden hate boner for the comics?
- So you're saying you know Iroh's capabilities more than Iroh himself?
deuteragonist's argument that Iroh should defeat Ozai is based on the comics. And I apologize for the sudden bluntness but I otherwise stand by what I said.
Edit: Actually I dont know better than Iroh. I just really love him.

As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.Word of God is that Ozai was the most powerful firebender in A:TLA so while it would've been good to see that before Sozin's Comet, I think it's likely that he would've beaten Iroh. At the least Iroh would've been the underdog in that fight.
